American Commerce 1776
In 1607, the first permanent English colony in the Americas was founded in Jamestown as a private economic venture. The Virginia colony was a privately funded economic venture established to grow and export tobacco to Europe.
By 1776, all thirteen English colonies had a vigorous mercantile trade in sugar, rice, tobacco, beaver skins, and a wide variety of goods and services. English colonial transactions were denominated in local units of pounds, shillings, and pence. Commercial payments included short-term book credit, payment in commodities, paper money or bills of credit, and specie coins including English coins, foreign gold and silver coins of Spain, Portugal, Netherlands, France, and Germany.
This Historical Replica set includes double side examples of domestic and foreign coins struck in 1776, the first year of the American Revolution and birth of the United States of America.
Pine Tree Penny of 1776.
Other than it was engraved by Paul Revere, little is known about the origin of the copper Pine Tree pattern cent dated 1776. The obverse has a crude pine tree with the inscription Id LM. The reverse shows the goddess of Liberty, seated on a globe holding a liberty cap and staff with a dog at her feet. The legend, Liberty And Virtue surrounds the figure.
Continental Dollar 1776
The Continental Dollar was intended to be redeemed for the Continental paper currency issued and distributed to finance the Revolutionary War. Shortage of silver forced coinage in brass and pewter, giving rise to the expression, “not worth a Continental”. The obverse shows a dial, a median sun, the word Fugio (time flies), and “Mind Your Business”, words credited to Ben Franklin. On the reverse, thirteen linked circles representing the original states, ring the words, “We are One.”
Spanish Silver 2 Bit and 8 Real Bust Dollar of 1776
The Spanish silver dollar was “the premier coin of the Atlantic world of the 17 and 18 century.” The Spanish silver dollar was frequently cut in half (4-bits), quarters (2-bits) and halved again to make small change.
The 8 Real Silver Bust Dollar of 1776 bears the portrait of Carlos III (1759-1788) and legend Dei Gratia (by the Grace of God). The reverse shows the Pillars of Hercules, gates to the new world. Ribbons are inscribed with Plus Ultra (more beyond) and inscription Hispan et Ind. Rex (King of Spain and the Indies), crowned shield bearing the towers of Castile and rampant Lions of Leon.
New Hampshire Pattern Halfpenny 1776
New Hampshire was the first state to establish coinage following the Declaration of Independence. William Moulton (WM) made a limited number of cast copper pieces. Obverse; Tree on straight ground. Reverse shows the initials WH.
All coin reproductions are made of lead free pewter and have COPY stuck on the reverse in accordance with the Hobby Protection Act.

Duecento attivisti del Presidio Permanente NoDalMolin sono entrati a mezzogiorno all’interno della nuova base Usa al Dal Molin dopo aver tagliato alcune centiaia di metri di recinzione. Una volta all’interno, hanno piantato bandiere e uno striscione con scritto "Stop war in Siria".
L’iniziativa è una risposta concreta e diretta contro l’ipotesi dell’ennesima guerra umanitaria, questa volta in Siria, che non porterebbe altro che nuovi lutti e distruzioni. In questo senso l’Italia è - volente o nolente - ancora una volta in prima linea, grazie alle sue basi militari piegata ai desideri statunitensi e territorio a disposizione dei militari a stelle e strisce.
La manifestazione si inserisce nella campagna contro le servitù militari lanciata dal Presidio Permanente NoDalMolin dopo l’inaugurazione della nuova basa Usa a Vicenza. Già lo scorso giugno centinaia di attivisti avevano violato un’altra installazione militare, site Pluto. "Fino a quando gli statunitensi avranno un piede a Vicenza - promettono i NoDalMolin - continueremo a violare le base militari presenti nel nostro territorio: Vicenza libera dalle servitù militari non è uno slogan, è una pratica".
Sabato, intanto, è in programma una nuova manifestazione che partirà dal Festival NoDalMolin alle 15.30 e raggiungerà, ancora una volta, l’area del Dal Molin. "Essere contro la guerra - hanno concluso i NoDalMolin - significa battersi contro le basi in tutti i territori, come fanno i NoMuos in Sicilia e come abbiamo condiviso, con movimenti di tutto il mondo, domenica scorsa durante la global conference internazionale".

En el año 2018 El Museo de Arte de El Salvador apuesta por un diálogo de 5 años entre el Arte Contemporáneo y el Arte del Siglo XX ofreciendo al público la exposición Diálogos en el Arte salvadoreño.
La muestra cuenta con 800 Mts² de Arte salvadoreño, una duración de 5 años, 104 piezas de arte, 86 artistas salvadoreños, 5 colectivos y 2 secciones: Donde hubo fuego… Arte Contemporáneo y Entre realidad e imaginación. Arte del siglo XX, bajo la curaduría de Simón Vega y Rafael Alas Vásquez, respectivamente. Mostrando las relaciones y asociaciones entre variados planteamientos artísticos, esta exposición contiene una diversidad de medios de expresión que son testimonio de la creatividad del artista salvadoreño y de un desarrollo cambiante y fructífero a lo largo del siglo XX hasta la actualidad.

Esta sección reúne algunas de las obras más significativas y relevantes del arte contemporáneo salvadoreño, desde el año 2003 hasta el 2017. Está estructurada alrededor de cuatro temas o ejes principales, que han sido definidos al identificar en la producción de los artistas de El Salvador una recurrencia de ciertos temas, tendencias y preocupaciones.

Entre realidad e imaginación. Arte del siglo XX
La segunda parte de la exposición DIÁLOGOS en el arte salvadoreño está organizada en cuatro ejes temáticos que abarcan un período de más de cien años de desarrollo artístico. Las obras seleccionadas corresponden al siglo XX, y algunas a años recientes debido a la vigencia de los temas. En este período, el arte gradualmente ganó reconocimiento valorándose cada vez más como expresión creativa, por lo que el artista asumió un rol más protagónico. Surgen nuevas formas de expresión, que van más allá de la representación fiel de la realidad circundante: de los temas que muestran el entorno rural y sus pobladores se pasó a la creación de nuevas formas desligadas de la representación de lo visible y lo tangible a través de la interpretación y la imaginación. Con los nuevos lenguajes se va a cambiar la dinámica obra-espectador pues junto con la experiencia sensorial, se va a propiciar cada vez más el ejercicio intelectual.

Le documentaire explique par exemple la manière dont a été réalisée la reconstruction de Saint-Malo à l'intérieur des rempart de la vieille ville : "c'est la fidélité à l'histoire et la force du souvenir qui a guidé l'architecte". Dans le même esprit à Gien, au trois quart détruite en 1940, seul le château construit en 1494 pour Anne de Beaujeu, fille aînée de Louis XI, fut épargné par les bombardements. La ville fut reconstruite dans le style des rares immeubles restant. Gien est relevé de ses ruines et le nouvel ensemble harmonieux est appelé « Joyau de la Reconstruction française ». Dans un deuxième temps est abordé le chapitre de la construction des cités et des grands ensembles, de l’architecture du renouveau qualifiée de "grandiose incontestablement". The Peoples Summit 'Linking Alternatives 4' is an alternative meeting to the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the European Union, Latin America and the Caribbean taking place in Madrid from 14 to 18 May 2010. The Biregional network Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, which organizes Linking Alternatives, comprises civil society representatives from those regions in a space for action and reflection that seeks to contribute to building 'another world'.
The agenda of Linking Alternatives 4 does not only cover trade issues, but it also includes a wide range of issues such as militarization, human rights, water, food sovereignty, migrations, climate change, etc.. The Permanent Peoples' Tribunal, an opinion tribunal which aims to give visibility to social movements and citizens’ struggles against human rights violations, will focus on the complicity of the European Union (EU) with the abuses of transnational corporations (TNCs) and denounce the impunity of European TNCs and their impacts on peoples’ rights.

I don't know if these were usually kept covered in the offseason or not but each car had a lot of leaves in and around them, implying they'd been sitting there for some time.
This was a very simple ride--cars were on a single rail and ran themself. There was no gas pedal to press down on in the car. However, it was my favorite ride when making annual visits here in the mid to late 70's....
