En Casar de Cáceres, 25 de abril de 2008
Sesión con responsables políticos, técnicos/as y agentes sociales
PERFIL DEL GRUPO:
En este grupo participaron representantes institucionales y técnicos de
todas las
localidades de la mancomunidad. El total de participantes fue de 36: 15
hombres y 21
mujeres, alcaldes/as, concejales y concejalas y técnicos/as (aedls,
trabajadoras
sociales, dinamizadores/as deportivos/as, gestores/as culturales,
representantes del
Grupo de Acción Local), con titulación media en su mayoría.
A. CONOCIMIENTO DE LA REALIDAD JUVENIL
La juventud extremeña necesita un empuje en cuanto al asociacionismo y
participar
más en las actividades, pero con un mayor grado implicación; hay que
fomentar la
actitud emprendedora y las ganas de realizar actividades. El grupo
considera a los/as
jóvenes como: poco participativos/as, pasotas, desmotivados/as, pero por
otra parte
también se ve –dicen- a una juventud inteligente, inquieta, colaboradora,
voluntariosa y
divertida.
Algunos alcaldes manifestaron en este momento del debate su preocupación
sobre
cómo fijar a la población joven en sus municipios.
B. PROGRAMAS O RECURSOS DISPONIBLES
Existen programas específicos que desarrollan actividades a nivel de
municipios, como
los de Prevención de Drogas, Dinamizadores/as Deportivos/as,
Dinamizadores/as
Culturales.
Existen Concejalías de Juventud y asociaciones juveniles municipales, pero
no hay una
estructura de mancomunidad, surge la propuesta de realizar un Plan de
Juventud en el
ámbito de la mancomunidad.
Este año, en el Programa Pueblos, una de las acciones que han contemplado
va dirigida
a dinamizar a las asociaciones juveniles y retomar el Consejo Comarcal
Joven que
existía antes.
En algunos municipios sí hay planteadas Líneas Estratégicas de Intervención
con los/as
jóvenes en el marco de la Agenda 21.
Se han realizado mejoras de la Instalaciones Deportivas en algunos
municipios de la
Mancomunidad.

PERFIL DEL GRUPO:
Participaron un total de 40 jóvenes: 9 chicos y 31 chicas. En su mayoría
estudiantes de
Educación Secundaria Obligatoria, Bachillerato, FP II, Universitarios/as y
mayoritariamente mujeres, algunas personas estaban realizando cursos para
desempleados/as. Asistieron representantes de algunas asociaciones de
jóvenes,
(Asociación Juvenil Malpalia Brozas, Asociación Juvenil de Mata de
Alcántara,
Juventudes Socialistas de Casar de Cáceres, Radio Casar de Cáceres).
A. VALORACIÓN DEL III PLAN DE JUVENTUD
Se recogieron las aportaciones en torno e tres cuestiones: ¿has participado
en las
actividades del III Plan de Juventud en los últimos cuatro años? ¿cómo las
valoras?
¿qué mejorarías?
Los/as Jóvenes han participado en torneos deportivos (Fútbol, Baloncesto),
en
campamentos de verano, conciertos, mercadillos solidarios, en alguna
convivencia
juvenil, en un Intercambio con Chile, teatros, pero casi todas estas
actividades han sido
propuestas desde sus municipios. La mayoría se enteran de estas actividades
por sus
propios/as compañeros/as.
Algunos/as jóvenes conocen la existencia de puntos de información del
Gabinete de
Iniciativa Joven en su localidad (Arroyo de la Luz) y de programas para
jóvenes
emprendedores/as, ayudas para el carnet de conducir…
B.- NECESIDADES Y DEMANDAS DE LOS/AS JÓVENES
Los/as Jóvenes demandan más información y comunicación, dicen tener
necesidad de
saber a dónde pueden dirigirse para realizar actividades, trámites, pedir
ayudas… pero
piden que los medios a través de los cuales se ofrezcan estos servicios
estén adaptados
a los tiempos, por ejemplo a través del correo electrónico o SMS: Proponen
la creación
de una Web de Mancomunidad que tenga un área de juventud, en la que se
puedan
consultar noticias, eventos etc. Solicitan también mejoras para el acceso
al primer
empleo, empleos de calidad, acceso a la vivienda…
Se planteó la propuesta de realizar intercambios entre municipios de la
Mancomunidad,
pues en algunos la población joven no es numerosa, si se promueven estos
intercambios habrá pueblos –opinan- a los que lleguen las actividades.
C. PROPUESTAS Y COMPROMISOS EN RELACIÓN CON LOS EJES DEL IV PLAN

Hundertwasser Haus (Vienna)

The Hundertwasser House is a from 1983 to 1985 of the City of Vienna constructed residential building and it is located at the corner Kegelgasse 34-38 and Löwengasse 41-43 in the third District of Vienna, country road (Landstraße).
History
The Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser dealt since the 1950s with architecture. He began his involvement with manifestos, essays and demonstrations. Particularly became known his Mouldiness Manifesto. In 1972 he exhibited in the Eurovision Contest broadcast "Wünsch dir Was" (make a wish come true) architecture models with which he illustrated his ideas of the roof forestation, the tree tenants and the window right and architectural forms such as the high-meadows-house, eyes slit house or terrace house. In lectures at universities and architects associations and offices Hundertwasser talked about his concern of an architecture that is more natural and more appropriate for human beings.
In a letter dated of 30 November 1977 to the mayor of Vienna Leopold Gratz, recommended Chancellor Bruno Kreisky to give Hundertwasser the opportunity to put his concerns in the field of architecture in the construction of a residential building in practice. Gratz invited Hundertwasser thereupon by letter dated of 15 December 1977 to create a house in Vienna to his ideas. It followed the years-long search for a suitable property. Since Hundertwasser was not an architect, he asked the City of Vienna, beizustellen (to provide) him an architect who would be willing to transpose his concept into adequate plan drawings.
A conflictual cooperation
The city administration procured Hundertwasser the architect Josef Krawina. This one presented Hundertwasser in August and September 1979 his preliminary designs, based on the then valid rules for social housing as well as a Styrofoam model, however, corresponding to the architectural concept of the closed construction and which Hundertwasser shocked rejected because it corresponded exactly to the rectilinear and leveling grid architecture, against the he had always fought. Hundertwasser wanted a "house for people and trees", just as he had described years earlier in his text "Verwaldung (forestation) of the City": in his model of the "terrace house" for the program "Make a wish" he had already visualized this house.
It succeeded Hundertwasser still 1979 to win the City of Vienna for his concept of a green terrace construction and thus for exceptions from the building regulations, normally applicable. In March 1980 followed a second preliminary draft Krawinas' along with associated perspective or axonometric drawings and an accompanying balsa wood model. Krawina developed in the process under intense utilization of the granted legal options a from the building regulations considerably differing structure shell where a consensus could be found. This structure shell was left substantially unchanged over all planning steps and also came actually to execution.
"Subsequently, there were clashes between Hundertwasser and Krawina, which escalated in the design of the facade. The controversy led to the resignation Krawinas' from cooperation on 14th October in 1981. "The artist in a letter had turned to Rudolf Kolowrath, Head of the Municipal Department 19 (Architecture), asking him to replace the architect so that he could realize his own ideas. Architect Peter Pelikan, an employee of the Municipal Department 19, took over the further planning. He became for hundreds of water (Hundertwasser) a long-term partner for numerous other construction projects. The Supreme Court stated out but in 2010 on the occasion of a long-standing dispute over the authorship of the building: "The opinion of the Court of Appeal, architect Krawina and Hundertwasser were co-authors , [ ... ] is based on comprehensible conclusions from the proceedings for the evidence procedure [ ... ]"
2001 Krawina by the H. B. Media distribution company mbH could be convinced to claim that the "Hundertwasser House" was his work. After an eight-year process, the Supreme Court decided on 11 March 2010: "The fact that Krawina own creative contributions has provided to the building, there is, according to further evidences by the assessment of the legal expert, no doubt, on it the Court of Appeal based its applying legal view of a co-authorship Krawinas': "Since then it is now necessary in the distribution of illustrations or replicas of the house to mention Joseph Krawina next Hundertwasser as co-author.
Characteristics of the house
The according to the concept and the ideas of Friedensreich Hundertwasser designed, by Josef Krawina as co-author and Peter Pelikan planned, colorful and unusual house has in the hallways uneven floors and is lavishly planted. In 1985 about 250 trees and shrubs were planted and are now thanks to the care of tenants and representatives of the owners grown to stately trees, - a real park on the roof of the house.
The house does not follow the usual standards of architecture. Hundertwasser's role models are clearly visible: among others, Antoni Gaudí, the Palace idéal of Ferdinand Cheval, the Watts Towers, the anonymous architecture of the allotment gardens and those of the storybooks. The house has 52 apartments and four shops, 16 private and three communal roof terraces. The media response to the building was worldwide enormous. In Vienna, the Hundertwasser Krawina house is among the most photographed tourist attractions.

Other buildings of Hundertwasser
The artist designed some 40 buildings, of which several houses, also popularly known as "Hundertwasser house (Hundertwasserhaus)". Located less than 400 meters away from the Hundertwasser House in Vienna, in the Lower Weißgerberstraße 13, is the in 1991 opened and after designs by Hundertwasser and Peter Pelikan planned Kunsthaus Vienna (KunstHausWien), where in addition to temporary exhibitions a permanent Hundertwasser retrospective is offered.
Similar buildings were in cooperation of Friedensreich Hundertwasser with architect Peter Pelikan and Heinz M. Springmann, among others, in Bad Soden am Taunus, Darmstadt (Forest Spiral), Frankfurt am Main, Magdeburg (Green Citadel of Magdeburg), Plochingen (Living Beneath the Rain Tower), Wittenberg (Luther-Melanchthon-Gymnasium), Bad Blumau (Rogner Bad Blumau), Israel, Switzerland, the United States, Osaka in Japan and New Zealand realized.

This was taken at the 1999 Chicago Autoshow. The Cielo was a five passenger mid-size car, it features three solid roof panels that glide down a pair of rails into a pocket behind the rear seat to create a convertible with two permanent roll bars. The interior included many voice-activated operations that could be customized to each individual driver. Control and gauges are hidden from view until they are needed. Built on a Regal chassis and powered by a 3.8-liter 3800 Series II V6. The Cielo lines are clearly Buick and look remarkably like a line drawing of the 2000 Buick LeSabre's body structure.
Higher Ground: A Century of the Visual Arts in East Tennessee, is a new permanent installation of works from the Knoxville Museum of Art collection celebrating the art and artists of Knoxville and the surrounding region.
The fascinating and complex story of our area’s rich artistic heritage and its connections to the larger currents of American art are largely unknown, and certainly underappreciated. Highlights of the new installation include important works by Catherine Wiley and Lloyd Branson, pioneering artists who introduced Knoxville audiences to Art Nouveau, Impressionism, and other international art movements of their day; Joseph and Beauford Delaney, two of America’s most significant African-American artists; and works from the 1950s and 1960s by the Knoxville Seven, a group of progressive artists connected to the University of Tennessee who transformed and energized the area’s artistic climate. Art from more recent decades includes mixed-media objects by visionary sculptor Bessie Harvey along with a selection of works by leading area artists whose creations represent the quality and diversity of art-making in the region today.

A permanent memorial to those who died with Covid-19 and the unsung workers of the pandemic was unveiled in Balm Green Gardens by Barker's Pool on Thursday 23rd March 2023 on the third anniversary of the UK entering lockdown for the Covid pandemic. According to the latest government figures, 1,921 people in Sheffield have died with Covid since March 2020.
The stainless steel sculpture representing a willow tree was created by architect and and sculptor George King and chosen out of 14 entries after Sheffield City Council asked for submissions. George says the memorial was "made in Sheffield for the people of Sheffield". It was unveiled by the Leader of Sheffield City Council, Councillor Terry Fox and Lord Mayor, Councillor Sioned-Mair Richards.
George King said: "A willow has a strong trunk, which symbolises how people worked together to create the strength needed at such a difficult time." He said quotes on the inside of the steel columns came from "memories and experiences of the pandemic" which had been collected on postcards. “Local poets took fragments of them and tied them together into a single poem, so as you walk around the sculpture you experience a unique piece of literature.”
Balm Green Gardens was gifted to Sheffield in 1937, after J.G. Graves (an entrepreneur and public benefactor who did so much for Sheffield) negotiated the purchase of the small piece of land from the adjacent Grand Hotel. At the time he said: “It will, I hope, provide a note of quiet sympathy which will be in harmony with the feelings of those who visit the War Memorial in the spirit of a visit to a sacred place.”
