The unveiling (Groundbreaking) Ceremony for the E. Claire Raley Studios for the Performing Arts at Fremont School in midtown Sacramento. Complete with performances by local groups, speeches, and tours of the work in progress. Official opening is planned for January 2016.

The expansion of residential suburbs in the 1960’s and 1970’s left our central city with stately but underutilized school facilities. Fremont School is one example - a beautiful brick and terracotta building in the Spanish Revival style on a quiet Midtown street. It had a ‘second life’ as an adult education center, which was has since been shuttered.
After much discussion and negotiation, Fremont School now is slated as the new creative home for Sacramento’s Performing Arts community. The high ceilings and large classrooms have the potential to perfectly suit rehearsal and teaching needs for the Sacramento Ballet, Sacramento Opera and Sacramento Philharmonic Orchestra.
There are many technical challenges to adapting an early 20th century non-reinforced masonry building to the needs of 21st century performing arts. We are diving into these challenges with creative energy, confident that this new Studios for the Performing Arts will be a vibrant and creative magnet in the community.
NMH performing arts groups including the symphony orchestra, musical theater, the junior and senior dance companies, concert and jazz bands, concert choir, the World Music Percussion Ensemble and the stage band performed short sets from their upcoming end of fall term productions for live and streamed audiences at the Rhodes Center for the Arts, October 8, 2021, in support of Fall Family Weekend, 2021. It also spawned two Top 40 hits, "Stars and Boulevards" and "Boston," which was certified digital platinum.
Indie Sessions at the Boulevard Pool feature original indie artists and up-and-coming bands performing high above The Strip. About: After reading and discussing the book "Tar Beach" by Faith Ringgold, students created a version of their very own night sky through the art process of collage. Students discussed the importance of Faith Ringgold as well as various objects that we may discover when looking at the skyline of a city. Vocabulary words included skyscrapers, street lights, traffic lights, collage, pattern, and astronomy.

Born into a family of musicians in Arkansas on October 18, 1979, Shaffer C. Smith, aka Ne-Yo, was a youngster when his mother relocated to Las Vegas in hopes of a better life. A natural-born storyteller, Ne-Yo cited Prince, Marvin Gaye, the Rat Pack, and Stevie Wonder in his list of favorite entertainers.
The big break took place in 2004, when R&B singer-actor Mario scored a left-field #1 hit with “Let Me Love You,” which Ne-Yo co-wrote with the track’s producer Scott Storch. The song stayed at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for nine weeks, and became (at the time) the most-played song in radio history, with 189.5 million audience in its peak week. It finished out 2004 as the #1 most-played song of the year at radio, and also became one of the top-selling ringtone downloads of all time.

The French duo formed by Gaspard Auge and Xavier de Rosnay, is the band of a whole generation.
