Israeli singer מאיה סימנטוב Maya Simantov performs in USA with DJ Yinon Yahel at Splash in New York City 2010
Dance-R&B singer-songwriter Maya Simantov (מאיה סימנטוב), also known as Maya, was born and raised in Israel to a Jewish family. Maya's debut dance album First Time received praise as one of Israel's all-time best dance albums and was released internationally by Star69 Records.
In 2005 Maya recorded numerous top ratings on major charts around the world, "Searching" entering the billboard top 25 and "First Time" hitting top 10 on billboard dance/club play.
In 2006 a second album entitled Second Time and the single "Be My Boyfriend" started around the world the "Offermanía" with Maya as one of the main protagonists. For 2007, DJ Offer Nissim released a double album with their best remixes and some his own, in collaboration with Maya; the same happened in 2008 with double album Happy People which includes, among other issues, "I'm In Love", "Wish You Where Here", "Love Me", "Why" and "Happy People".
Israeli born producer, Yinon Yahel began his musical career as the keyboardist for the well known Israeli rock band Eman

From the Performing Arts Center project via Steven Guerrisi's architecture portfolio. The site of the Crystal Formation Performing Arts Center is situated between residential high-rises to the east and commercial skyscrapers and a highway to the west. In order to incorporate these contextual elements formally, the building responds differently to each side, and utilizes a hybrid program of office spaces, luxury residential and hotel units and various performing arts spaces to blur the commercial and residential elements—generating a building that is active for 24-hours.

Approximately 40 Soldiers from the Leesburg-based Company C, 3rd Battalion, 116th Infantry Regiment, 116th Brigade Combat Team perform community service projects in the Leesburg and Loudon County areas June 2 to show their appreciation for the great support the community has provided in recent years. The Soldiers, along with a humber of family members, helped build a memorial garden at the Arcola Elementary School in Aldie, spread mulch and assisted with gardening work at the Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve, painted and cleaned at the Morven Equestrian Center for the Loudoun Therapeutic Riding Association, performed gardening work and clean up at St. David's Episcopal Church and helped conduct inventory at Loudoun County Interfaith. Approximately 200 people attended a company open house where the unit served food and had static displays along with information displays from the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office, Middleburg Police, Virginia Defense Force, VFW Post 1177, Civil Air Patrol and representatives from the Girl Scouts of America. Soldiers from Company C also challenged the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office to a tug of war and were victorious with the assistance of Leesburg Mayor Kristen Umstattd. Company Mascot "Charlie Stonewall" also attended the event. The Denver Performing Arts Complex (sometimes referred to locally as "The Plex," "The DCPA" or simply, "Denver Center") located in Denver, Colorado, is the second largest performing arts center in the world after New York City's Lincoln Center. The DPAC is a four-block, 12-acre (49,000 m2) site containing ten performance spaces with over 10,000 seats connected by an 80 ft (24 m) tall glass roof. It is home to a theatre company, Broadway touring productions, contemporary dance and ballet, chorales, a symphony orchestra, opera and more.
The expansion of residential suburbs in the 1960’s and 1970’s left our central city with stately but underutilized school facilities. Fremont School is one example - a beautiful brick and terracotta building in the Spanish Revival style on a quiet Midtown street. It had a ‘second life’ as an adult education center, which was recently shuttered.
After much discussion and negotiation, Fremont School now is slated as the new creative home for Sacramento’s Performing Arts community. The high ceilings and large classrooms have the potential to perfectly suit rehearsal and teaching needs for the Sacramento Ballet, Sacramento Opera and Sacramento Philharmonic Orchestra.
There are many technical challenges to adapting an early 20th century non-reinforced masonry building to the needs of 21st century performing arts. We are diving into these challenges with creative energy, confident that this new Studios for the Performing Arts will be a vibrant and creative magnet in the community.

The Chateau le Vin fund raiser was a great event held in Wasilla, Alaska in June 2012 as a fund raiser for the performing arts. I was lucky enough to be asked to shoot at this event even though I had no clue what I was doing. I was able to shoot with some of the performers before the show started while they were practicing. During the show I was seated far from the stage and flash wasn't allowed so some of the photos are grainy and slightly blurry. This is one of the events from Alaska I really miss - but I hope these events continue - what a blast!
Note - even though a lot of the performers are belly dancers, the theme for this event was 1890s Paris - and the costumes are so cool.

Before I started out on a waterfall walk in a nearby state park today I came across these 2 delightful chipmunks. They were very tame and went in and out of the rocks, poping up and scurrying out of sight, then back to where we could seem them. It was so funny to watch them!

The People’s Key – the band’s seventh studio album – is the eagerly awaited follow-up to 2007’s acclaimed Cassadaga. Since 2006 the once revolving cast of Bright Eyes players has settled around permanent members Conor Oberst, Mike Mogis and Nathaniel Walcott, with additional musicians joining them in the studio and on tour. Fully realized and bursting with charisma, The People’s Key is an assured and accomplished album, artfully arranged and filled with the engaging and mesmeric songwriting for which Oberst is renowned.
Bright Eyes’ success snowballed in early 2005 when the simultaneous release of the sister albums “I’m Wide Awake”, “It’s Morning and Digital Ash In A Digital Urn” saw the Nebraskans hurled into the limelight and the Billboard Charts. To say that the band became a household name would be an overstatement but for a few months they seemed ubiquitous; from magazine covers to late night talk shows, they were name-checked by everyone from sports casters to country stars. Conor Oberst has spent much of the last few years recording and touring with friends and musicians, The Mystic Valley Band, as well as releasing a a highly acclaimed album and tour as part of the so called indie supergroup Monsters of Folk.
