On July 8, 2015 Charge d’Affaires William Grant hosted the US Embassy’s annual inter-faith Iftar welcoming a diverse gathering of Arab and Jewish community leaders from all faiths and backgrounds to celebrate multiculturalism during the holy month of Ramadan. With a message of tolerance and partnership, educators, religious, political and community leaders gathered to dine for an evening meal at the Ambassador’s residence in Herzliya Pituach. During the evening, Charge d’Affaires Grant awarded the State Department’s Outstanding Volunteer Service Certificate to 7 Youth Exchange Students and Study Alumni in recognition of their outstanding contribution to the community and for fostering mutual understanding during their one year of high school year stay in the US. Guests enjoyed views of the setting sun over the Mediterranean Sea while prayers were chanted, remarks were given, and beautiful Arabic musical performed.

The expansion of residential suburbs in the 1960’s and 1970’s left our central city with stately but underutilized school facilities. Fremont School is one example - a beautiful brick and terracotta building in the Spanish Revival style on a quiet Midtown street. It had a ‘second life’ as an adult education center, which was has since been shuttered.

After much discussion and negotiation, Fremont School now is slated as the new creative home for Sacramento’s Performing Arts community. The high ceilings and large classrooms have the potential to perfectly suit rehearsal and teaching needs for the Sacramento Ballet, Sacramento Opera and Sacramento Philharmonic Orchestra.

There are many technical challenges to adapting an early 20th century non-reinforced masonry building to the needs of 21st century performing arts. We are diving into these challenges with creative energy, confident that this new Studios for the Performing Arts will be a vibrant and creative magnet in the community.

Born into a family of musicians in Arkansas on October 18, 1979, Shaffer C. Smith, aka Ne-Yo, was a youngster when his mother relocated to Las Vegas in hopes of a better life. A natural-born storyteller, Ne-Yo cited Prince, Marvin Gaye, the Rat Pack, and Stevie Wonder in his list of favorite entertainers.

The big break took place in 2004, when R&B singer-actor Mario scored a left-field #1 hit with “Let Me Love You,” which Ne-Yo co-wrote with the track’s producer Scott Storch. The song stayed at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for nine weeks, and became (at the time) the most-played song in radio history, with 189.5 million audience in its peak week. It finished out 2004 as the #1 most-played song of the year at radio, and also became one of the top-selling ringtone downloads of all time.

The French duo formed by Gaspard Auge and Xavier de Rosnay, is the band of a whole generation. When the two friends were still bright students in graphic design, in 2003 they made JUSTICE a place to experiment a hybrid genre between music and image, which blends pop and electronic borders, and showcases the talents of 2 pop culture craftsmen whose vitamin-enriched electro beats combine with exhilarating voices to rock the dancefloor.

I love Miley.

Now, before you jump all over me & yell "SHE'S A SLUT!", hear me out.

She's crazy talented. I mean, come on, have you seen Hannah Montana? It's frikin' hilarious! :D & her music wouldn't be so successful if she couldn't sing.

Here's the twist...was I impressed by her "Can't Be Tamed" video? Nope. Was I disappointed? A little, yeah. But do I hate her? No. I definitely think she could use a reminder that little girls everywhere look up to her & are watching her every move, but I don't hate her.

I do have to admit, with stuff like "Can't Be Tamed", she's not representing her Christian faith very well, but, I don't know her and so I can't judge where she stands in her relationship with Christ. & neither can anyone other than Miss Miley herself.

Is she making some "questionable" career choices? Definitely. But that doesn't make her a slut. Let's just face it...she's young & dumb...we all are! lol And, with Hannah Montana ending, she's under TONS of pressure to make that crazy-hard transition from child-star to legit actress/singer.

Do you know anything about how she is in her day to day life when she's just hanging out with friends or family? No. So how do you know she's a slut? .......Exactly.

OH!&btw, I looove her haircut. x) Just saying.

thankyouuu(:
