Pendleton, IN. - What a day! What a day Christmas was. Christmas in Pendleton, Indiana that is. From early Saturday morning with the crowing of the Pendleton Snow Princess, the measuring of what is probably a record snow by Parade Grand Marshall, Alicia Roman of WISH-TV and then toward evening with the Christmas Tree Lighting and caroling, the entire town of Pendleton was filled with children, parents, and shoppers for a day that will be long remembered by all.

This well built stretch of road has recently had its speed limit cut to 40 from 50mph

The Paddock has been boared up for time now!

CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. -- The Tomahawk fire that started on Naval Weapons Station Fallbrook has burned approximately 6,000 acres and has moved onto Camp Pendleton.

 

Camp Pendleton personnel in the 14-Area have been ordered to shelter in place.

 

Naval Weapons Station Fallbrook personnel, Camp Pendleton's De Luz housing residents and Mary Fay Elementary School were ordered to evacuate at 10:20 today.

 

Camp Pendleton's O'Neill Heights Housing, as well as the De Luz Child Development Center was also ordered to evacuate at 12:30.

 

Camp Pendleton's Paige Field house, located aboard Mainside, is serving as the evacuation site.

 

Children evacuated from the De Luz Child Development Center have been relocated to the Fisher Child Care Center on Mainside. Parents can contact the Fisher Child Care Center at (760) 725-0845.

 

Base fire crews responded to a brush fire aboard Naval Weapons Station, Fallbrook, at approximately 9:45 a.m., today. Camp Pendleton Fire Department is working with Cal Fire, North County Fire, Orange County Fire, and Oceanside Fire to contain the Tomahawk fire on Naval Weapons Station Fallbrook.

 

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Rug made from Pendleton Woolen Mill scrap. I'm trying to make several of these so I can sell them…they are great. All wool, fire resistance and flea resistance…also made from Pendleton Wool Salvage. This one is about 4x3 ft.

This was our view from our 1st house patio on Pendleton, Sera Mesa district. Im from Alabama, so I was in love to have the beautiful mountains of Cali. Jan.2005

Elderly family member stayed in this house as a youngster in the 30's....with stories of once having a small plane landing strip at back of property for Bootlegging purposes.
