Came across this old one room school house in Eastern Oregon about 1 hour south of Pendleton. Love the hills and high desert look.

© Copyright A Pendleton 2014 This shot is for Carol, and I want to get this message across to ALL the people that care for Carol, it has been said and I wont say by who, that Carol is just fine well sadly that is NOT true she is very poorly and is just very tired most of the time even to the extent that even writing a small reply or comment is too much, Yes there are days when she is a little better but they are not as often as Carol would wish, I can say this because Carol and I have talked and these are the facts the REAL facts... it upsets me greatly when people choose not to listen to the truth and believe what they are told by third parties, well I am not a third party I am a very close friend of Carol who wants the truth to be known, Carol has a lot of friends on Flickr and I believe that if they knew the truth about Carol they would want to do the same as I, as Carol is a very special lady who has my utmost respect and love too, so Carol please take care take each day as it comes and know that ALL your friends send there love to you,................... I am going to touch base on my comment on my previous shot here for a moment. As an artist I have always pushed myself hard to become better, basically I never rest on what I have done today because I am always thinking about where I want to go tomorrow. I think this keeps me fresh, but sometimes frustrated too. So I sometimes "go back" to shots that I loved when I took them, but was never quite satisfied with the results due to either my limited knowledge at the time, or the mindset I was in.
This shot is a fine example of what I am talking about. As you can see from the pic in the comment I was in an HDR mindset because I didn't feel that the dynamic range on the D700 's sensor was enough to capture this scene with just one shot. So I had bracketed 5 shots and combined them to create the image below.
Fast Forward to today... my mindset is now single shots, though I will still bracket under toughly lit scenes to ensure I have what I may need for post work. So I decided to go back to the most "usable" shot from that bracket and work the single frame, and here it is. Totally done in Adobe Camera Raw. I am happy with this finally.
I say ALL of this to hopefully inspire you to push yourself, and look back to see how far you've come and look to where you want to go. :-)
Thanks for looking and reading!!

Until I make another trip at some point in the future, which I most certainly will, this is my last post of Pendleton Falls in Blackwater Falls State Park, West Virginia. A little bit tricky to get to, as Mike and I found out, but well worth it.
I was so engrossed during this shoot that I didn't really appreciate the size and location of that large boulder at the top until I got back home and started processing the shots. I find it to be such an interesting element.
The two comments shots are earlier posts of this same waterfall.
Thanks for looking!
