A friend is visiting, and we took advantage of the good weather with a trip to Hastings. A fish and chip lunch in a traditional seaside cafe, and a stroll along the seafront.

Sweet dreams!
* As if I need to explain myself, but it appears that on Flickr many people do not understand that the choices photographers make also can include soft focus. A sharp photograph here would have destroyed the kind of light I wanted coming from this window (enlarge the photograph to see its luminance). There is also the serious issue of peering into someone's room without their permission. So the choice was obvious. I will continue to make the photographs I wish to make - this is part of a series of 65 photos on suburban dreams - and if you do not like them then may I kindly ask you to refrain from visiting my page! Thank you to those of you who understand that there is more to photography than reproducing what can already be seen with the naked eye.

A view out to sea from Brighton’s Palace pier, you can just about see the remains of the West Pier on the horizon in the distance. Wish you all a very Happy Fence Friday and have a great weekend!

Freezing fog up on Hadrian's Wall created eerie conditions.
An 8 mile hike where I spent as much time on my backside as I did on my feet due to the icy paths underfoot.
Note to self - I must invest in some walking poles.
Seen through the railings of Lovekin's 120-year-old bridge, unit autorack train E271 swings through the curve into the late-afternoon sun. Their first stop will be a couple dozen kilometres away in Oshawa where they'll interchange with RSOS before continuing on to Toronto.
Peering and patience for the right moment to strike when you are fishing for your lunch can take some time that is for sure !
Pushing on that trigger is like pulling magic into my very soul...Darrell.
Have a safe and delightful day dear Flickr friends !
I like to try and find natural frames if possible. This is a little rest stop where you can sit in some shade right by the water.
