Design: Sea
The 24 page promo is printed on the GF Smith's Naturalis Smooth Absolute White (330gsm/160gsm) and features Pearlescent foiling on the front and back covers. The launch is to be accompanied by a limited edition of 200 posters, also featuring foiled text.
The fifth in the series of 'Naturalis' from GF Smith features compelling photographs by celebrated Art Director Peter Saville and artist Anna Blessmann at the Tulis Russell paper mill in Fife.

I know they don't look as clear as they should... but they were printed on a pearlescent paper so that they could give a sparkly effect.

A pizza box gift box for Valentines. Made with brown pearlescent card. My red heart is a Spellbinders die, The little heart is from the centre. I used Valentine Eris from Little Blue Button. I sized her to fit on the front of the box. I made the little flowers with a punch and some silver gems and finished with a little sentiment from a date stamp type stamp with 12 sentiments. It's got the sweetest teeny sentiments. Another photo on LBBS blog post today

APS Registration: MY LOVE (Don Hollingsworth, Kansas City, Missouri), April 15, 1992. Seedling #Hollingsworth 1860. Parentage Moon of Nippon x Cytherea. Bloomed before 1980. Double hybrid, of lactiflora type, pearlescent white, has a conical form with no stamens or seeds. It is medium tall, 34" with good stem strength. Prolific flowering on dark green strong bush. Mid- late bloom right after mid-season hybrids.
Small root from GHWild. Only a couple of buds. Other roots in this order were much bigger.

August PCAGOE challenge: Ocean
This funky vessel began as a mold from half of a coconut shell. Inside is pearlescent colors, and the entire thing is encrusted in all sorts of fantastical sea life- of course the huge starfish draped over the edge, sea weed, barnacles, coral, sea anemones and a few shells.
100% polymer clay with a light wash of gray acrylic paint.
This little dish measures 4 1/2 inches long by 3 1/2 inches wide and 2 inches high. Please see other views here:

Deboxing the Designer SQ Elsa and Hans Doll Set. Elsa has been deboxed. She is posed standing, supported by a Kaiser stand. Her cape is in a normal partially opened position, and her right leg is showing through the slit in the skirt. Her hair braid is draped over her left shoulder.
I have finally deboxed the Designer Fairytale Snow Queen Elsa and Hans Doll Set (2015). My set is #4597 of 6000. It was the only set that I didn't get at the Disney Store raffle, so I had to order her online. I show the set boxed, during deboxing and fully deboxed. After deboxing them, I place them back on their display stand, in a different pose.
I was a little surprised that Elsa has the body construction of the 2012 DS Classic Princess dolls, so has external hinged knee joints and ankle joints. It makes her legs a bit unsightly when they are exposed by opening the slit of the skirt. She has shiny pearlescent skin that is similar to the Harrods Elsa doll, but doesn't have the heavy blush. Her Snow Queen outfit also has embellishments that are more similar to that of the Harrods Elsa rather than that of the LE 2500 Snow Queen Elsa. But rather than the jeweled snowflakes of the 17'' LE Elsa she has single clear rhinestones throughout her braid, and a few on her head. The snowflake and icicle design in her cape are printed rather than embroidered (as in the 17'' LE Elsas) or glittered (as in the Classic Elsa). They are flat and smooth, and I don't think are as effective in depicting ice.
The major embellishments of Designer Hans over Classic Hans are the addition of white gloves, and a sword. However, It's disappointing that there is no scabbard for the sword - it is loosely sewn to his pants legs, which looks rather cheap.
I will show the dolls in side by side comparisons to other Elsa and Hans dolls in future postings.

-I am very proud of this design. I added green pearlescent to the mc when I sized the paper, giving the beetle a metallic look.
Red, flowing velvet inlaid with intricate beading and pearlescent detailing emulate the ornate and overly saturated colors paired with muted tones often seen in the Victorian style. Alongside the coloration and details, the symmetry of the design across the dress itself is also a great example of the era.

Goniochromism is the property of certain surfaces to change their colour depending on the angle under which they are viewed. From a physics standpoint this is rather uncommon behaviour, and in man-made objects this is usually only found in paints that are specifically designed for the effect.
Examples are pearlescent paints or interference pigments, which are sometimes used for custom paint jobs on cars.
