A couple of years ago, there was a show on the Travel Channel (I think) all about Peanut Shoppes. They made a really big deal about these small, owner-operations shops, and the history behind them, (of which there is much). We have a Peanut Shoppe - it's been here in Springfield for longer than I can remember. This is the more recent location on E. Main, next to the water tower.
I am grateful Vanderwees is a store that allows pets and puts up with my impromptu model shoots. The staff don't seem to mind and want to be friendly to Peanut but she takes a diva attitude with them.

Hams are so geometrical. They can be triangular, square and circular. :D
I weighed Peanut today and it is 28 grams.
Before he was 35 grams! :o
Lost some weight, but I don't know how, considering I give him lots of treats. :P
I was super PMS-y yesterday, so I baked a bunch of cookies to make me feel better. Ha! These are gluten free, super peanut buttery, and oh so delicious.
At 5pm I received the request for homemade cookies for an holiday event tomorrow. The name of the family member will remain unamed to protect his reputation...

Good Peanut Skippy has shown up and is busy devouring peanuts, didn't even notice to camera, shot in North Carolina.
I just re-edited this, trying to go for more "chiaroscuro." The boy on the left is Australian and the boy on the right is Nepali. They're harvesting peanuts in Bengal.

I think I’ve lost my mind with this title and banana rap song but--oh well---it’s the high altitude, I’m certain. :) This is the view from Mt. Democrat looking at Mt. Lincoln.
I’ll be climbing again tomorrow, if the weather holds. Wishing you a great day!!!

Theme: Heart's Desire
It is my heart's desire to eat as much of these Peanut M&Ms as I'd like and not gain weight by doing so :P
Squirrel spotting
Not so much bird activity on the morning walk today, but did have success at spotting the squirrel ‘Peanut’
I was thoroughly convinced this was a sea cucumber, until I was completely failing to find anything like it in Light's, decided to flip through the worms, and saw it under the Sipunculans. I mean, spiny skin! Feeding tentacles! Still so much to learn.
Does anyone know if these things are known to brood? If you look you'll see a smaller one with yellow tentacles to the lower left of the big one.
You can get up close and personal with squirrels with the help of peanuts. Incorruptible is something else ...
