A backlit Pink Lady's slipper blooming in a lovely bog - still wet under the sphagnum mat even though it hasn't rained in weeks. The magic of wetlands to retain surface water.

une prairie, une route, un chalet, rien de plus.

so i often get strange reactions from passersby while i am taking photos--i am sure that's something many of you can relate to. today, however, that person was a police officer who tried to make Zev and me leave the frozen river.

for the record, we were being very careful and the ice was more than a foot deep where this photo was taken. we invited the officer down to try it for himself, but sadly he declined.

also, if you haven't heard yet, i made a facebook page!

You are alone in an isolated cave. On the inside there is a pool of crystal clear water full of colourful tropical fish. On the outside, there is golden reef exposed by the tide, sea and sky reflect in the water.

Pause.

Lovely day for some relaxation, at Wingfoot Lake State Park.

... on a branch which is nice when you are trying to catch an image. I used to see a lot of the Red Breasted Nuthatches, but lately the White Breasted have moved in. Happy Wing Wednesday!
