This was one of those unplanned kind of shots. I was just mucking about with the 135mm and this was a result of it. :)
Toothpaste and orange juice, pools and cell phones, first dates and unfortunate run-ins with skunks, and artists and bodybuilders: these are a few things you wouldn’t really think go together, but the art of Patrick Brown disproves at least one of those pairs. Why spend your time in the gym when you could be like Patrick Brown and simply draw yourself a Bow-Flex body? We at Creative Tempest love Patrick Brown’s mastery in rendering the human form, and how, even when exaggerating it, he maintains a naturalness to it. Find out more at www.creativetempest.com

Patrick paints on a corner in the street most weekends near VooDoo Doughnuts. He asks $20 for his paintings, but as people walked past, today he said he would take $10.
I had the great privilege to spend some time with Patrick Sweeney this afternoon. He's literally running across America to raise awareness and attention for Run With Us America. He began 102 days and 3100 miles ago in SoCal and will finish in the next week or 2 in Boston. After running 40 miles today, he still had the energy to run up the Art Museum steps a la Rocky! Check out his FB page at www.facebook.com/runwithusamerica/timeline
Patrick Depailler was born on this day in 1944. He was known for driving on the edge and did not seem to fear death. He was simply a racer, that was his life. Today he’d have turned 74. He drove this very special car, the 6-wheeled Tyrrell P34/2, during the 1976 Formula 1 season. I saw this car two years ago at Canepa Motorsport and it’s still one of the most unique vehicles I’ve ever seen.
Check out the full article about my trip to Canepa on HoonArt.

Ottawa School Of Art is located on George Street in the heart of Ottawa's Byward Market. There was a group standing at the entrance enjoying refreshments in the springtime sun. One of those people was Patrick, his beret, his beard and holding a wine glass was tough to resist, I introduced myself and explained my project Patrick immediately agreed to participate.
Patrick Royle was in Ottawa from his home in Whitehorse Yukon to participate in an art auction which is raising funds for Syrian refugees. Patrick is a potter who specializes in Western Raku Pottery, an art he has been teaching for over 25 years.
Traditional Raku began in Japan hundreds of years ago, the process was used to make dishes for traditional Japanese tea ceremonies. Patrick has developed a method that incorporates traditional and more modern methods, hence the Western nomenclature.
Patrick's Raven Pottery Studio is located on the edge of the woods near Whitehorse, his "Fireweed" line of stoneware can be found in collections the world over. His work can also be found in the National Art Bank.
What a pleasure it was meeting such a talented artist, who is so generous with his time. A man very obviously connected to his community. We shook hands and Patrick went back to his friends. I trust the auction went well and Patrick is safely home in Whitehorse.
This is portrait #78 in my Human Family Project.

Dublin (Ireland) – Merely 20 yards off O'Connell Street, Dublin’s main thoroughfare stands Patrick Conways Pub - one of the great surviving Victorian Pubs in the Irish capital. Conways, first licensed in 1745, ranks as the oldest bar in the city. Conway's heritage is rich in that it is the childhood pal of the Rotunda Hospital. It is the long established waiting room of the hospital. Another great traditional link is with the GAA and its main venue, Croke Park, just five minutes away from the pub.
The pub has a traditional interior, maybe a bit tatty in places, but there's nothing tatty about the pint, says my husband Frans. Sit at the bar and watch the people because you'll see all sorts in here from politicians to shoppers to students. I consider Conway's as a good pub in the centre of town without town prices or crowds.
