Blanton Museum of Art. Austin. 2017

A man named Patrick as seen by artist Oliver Herring. The figure is made of foam core, it's skin is covered with bits of photographic images making it an object-half photograph, half-sculpture. The posed Patrick appears pensive and aloof from that voyeuristic gaze, closed away in a private state that belies his half-naked vulnerability.

St. Patrick’s Cathedral, New York City

Patrick Pool is the relatively short street that connects Church Street with Shambles Market. On one side it is dominated by the 16th-17th century, three-storey warehouse building. It is seen here from the edge of the market place. The end of St Sampson's church can just be made out, with Swinegate in the distance.

took a visit to port patrick

whilst taking a shot of the lighthouse and the keepers cottage this little plane started circling

so i waited on it coming back round to catch it in the shot

Just sharing an older series since I haven't had any opportunities to get some new ones. i have a few new little props I made but with all the snow we just had I doubt I will get any chances for new photo shoots for another little while. My picnic table where I put all my little sets was just cleared off and now has another foot plus of fresh snow and there is barely any place to toss it all. And tomorrow we are expecting another 10-25 cm of snow.. oh dear!

Hope some of you are enjoying the weather! Everyone is saying they cannot remember a winter like this..especially the overworked snow plow operators who have no where to push the snow. we are lucky to have a couple of neighbours with snow blowers who always come help us clear the driveway.

Remember little man Patrick well he is now 3 years old.. how time flys.. we brought him afew rubber duckies and boy he was so happy ;))

Little Patrick is a special little boy to us he is very clever, bright and full of LIFE.. he can only say afew words in spanish and english (span-english) as we say, he has been brought up by a single parent mum.. he seems lost at times without his father who left him when he was only afew weeks old. But he has a very loving family who care for him very well.

I put Woody in his smart green collar for St Patricks day. Only to find his neck is so furry its almost impossible to see it. Happy St Patricks day all the same...

Bale suisse, un soir d'orage

I met Patrick during a photowalk in Lyon and I wanted to ask for a portrait of him. But I didn't want a candid or a stolen shot; I wanted to know his story in order to catch his soul. He told me that he came from Czech Republic and he was wandering around Europe. He looked tired but optimistic and hopeful. We ate together in the street, trying to carry on the conversation by using a strange language: a mixture of English, French and maybe Elvish !

1 hour later, I made this portrait, hope you’ll find it strong.

I turn out the light,

We kiss goodnight.

And weary waiting,

Weary waiting to come closer,

Closer to where we belong

This train depot in Patrick, South Carolina was built by the Seaboard Air Line Railroad in 1900, six years before the town was incorporated. It is typical of the design of many small-town depots of that era. Passenger service ended in Patrick in 1971 although the northbound and southbound Amtrak Silver Star still pass through town early each morning. The depot is now use by the town for events and meetings. was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.

Patrick is a town in Chesterfield County, South Carolina. The population was 351 at the 2010 census. Like many small towns, Patrick was created when the railroad was built. It was named for Seaboard Air Line executive John Tyrant Patrick who was also a journalist and real estate developer. US Route 1 passes through Patrick.

The phone in the foreground was used to connect rail crews to dispatchers. Interestingly telephone service came to Patrick in 1956 and the first phone was installed in July 1957.

Ran into Patrick the other day and shot around downtown together a bit. Patrick's a great photographer and I especially enjoy his night photography stuff.
