I haven't been to a gig in years where the crowd were so completely captivated - nice Patrick certainly has the knack for inspiring devotion. (He didn't quite get me though - can only really take that kind of thing in small doses.)
Patrick's Roadhouse, PCH, Santa Monica, California.
This establishment is a piece of living history, as you might guess from the brassy sign. Lore has it that it once was a brothel – the apartments above the eating area are still rented.
For all the years I have frequented Patrick's its waitresses have been noteworthy lookers. I don't know why this is. Ownership has changed, management has changed, but not this.
Good food; great coffee. Excellent after swimming in the ocean at dawn on winter mornings.
