U2 on Oldies station: Bad
www.youtube.com/watch?v=l2puvI4IfG0
If you twist and turn away - If you tear yourself in two again
Chris: (he and Michael are bundled up and walking on the main path through the woods, toward the boardwalk) Are you sure you're feeling up to this? I mean, you just got off a super long night shift.
Michael: I'm fine. I've had to pull longer shifts than that. Besides, I'm the one who forgot to do the grocery shopping. So, the least I can do is take my baby to breakfast.
U2 on Oldies station: Let it go - Surrender - Dislocate
Marcus: (stops before he reaches the main path, spotting Chris and Michael) Well, what have we here?
Chris: Okay, but after we eat, you go straight home and get to bed. I can walk myself to work, now that I know where it is. (grins)
Marcus: How tantalizing. Such raw power, and completely untapped.
U2 on Oldies station: See you walk, walk away
Girl: (stepping forward, to stand beside Marcus) Leave him alone.
Marcus: Ah, you're back. I've been expecting you.
Girl: You're smarter than the Old Bird.
Marcus: I am. (his eyes remain on Michael and Chris)
Girl: But you still work for him.
Marcus: I'm smarter, not stronger.
Girl: He won't win.
U2 on Oldies station: Set your spirit free, I'd lead your heart away
Marcus: Don't be so sure, little one. He's been preparing for this battle.
Girl: (following Marcus' gaze) I won't let you steal their souls.
Marcus: That's the Old Bird's trick, not mine.
Girl: Then why are you watching them?
Marcus: They're an attractive couple, that's all.
Girl: You think one of them is pretty.
U2 on Oldies station: To let it go - And so to fade away - To let it go - And so, fade away
Marcus: (his eyes narrow and he looks sharply down at the Girl) None of your mind games, little one.
Girl: (winces) Ow! You didn't have to do that! (she rubs her head and hugs her stuffed bunny tighter)
Marcus: (is hit in the back by a snowball, turns to discover the Boy prepared to throw another)
Boy: (afraid, but defiant) You leave her alone!
Marcus: (chuckles, brushing away the snow) I like a fighting spirit. That's why I haven't looked too hard for the two of you, but if you keep talking to people, word will get back to the Old Bird, and he might send people who will search with diligence.
U2 on Oldies station: True colors fly in blue and black
Girl: What are Dilly Gents?
Boy: Probably mean guys in fancy suits.
Marcus: (laughs) They may very well wear fancy suits, but what I mean is -- people who will do exactly as the Old Bird commands. People who will search hard, and long, and who will find you.
Boy: (going to stand with the Girl) Well, I'm not scared.
Girl: (sounding uncertain) Uh, uh. Me either.
U2 on Oldies station: If I could, you know I would, if I could, I would
Marcus: You should be. You know how evil he is. You know the bad things he does.
Boy: You're bad too! Why should we listen to you?
Marcus: Because I'm not AS bad.
Girl: (to Boy) He could tell on us, but he never has.
Boy: He's still bad.
Girl: I know, but he's smart too. (looks up at Marcus) Smarter than the Old Bird.
U2 on Oldies station: Let it go - This desperation - Dislocation
Marcus: That's right.
Boy: But not stronger.
Marcus: Also right. (looks toward the boardwalk, where Michael and Chris recently crossed into the commons area) But things rarely stay the same forever. (he steps onto the main path)
U2 on Oldies station: Isolation, desolation - Let it go - And so fade away
Girl: Which one?
Marcus: (pauses on the path) What?
Girl: You were just thinking you'd like to kiss one of them, but I couldn't see which one.
Marcus: Little girls shouldn't snoop. (waves a hand) Go and play where it's safer. And stop talking to strangers, or I'll have to punish you.
Boy: (takes Girl's free hand and they trot deeper into the woods)
Marcus: (continues along the path, following the direction taken by Michael and Chris)
U2 on Oldies station: I'm wide awake - Wide awake - I'm not sleeping - Oh, no, no, no
(Thank you to Morgan for making it possible for Shemar to play Marcus Orsini and JenJen to appear, once again, as The Girl. They are wonderful in their roles!)

Start of the path that leads up to St Mary's Glacier and the rest of it isn't much better but a good hike.
This is my personal fave of all the sunrise shots I have taken.
Its just the sea, sun and sky, well except for a bit of the Skerries at the top right hand corner.
About 3/4 of the way up you can see a lighter coloured line that goes across the photo. This is the freshwater that flows from the River Foyle. Shane had to explain to me a couple of years ago that it wasn't pollution!
Sometimes simple is best which is why I am keeping this short and snappy.
Cropped, I know its grainy but its SOOC.
LOVELY ON BLACK. CLICK ON PHOTO
Fuji Pro Neg. Hi film simulation
I thought it would be fun to try a Junichi Hakoyama shot. Of course, Hakoyama-san does it much better! Check out Hakoyama-san's stream if you haven't already.

Paths to Middle Earth.
Steep, shaded, wooded gorges.
Cataracts, waterfalls and gushing burns.
A micro-climate, wet, humid and green.
Mosses, lichens, algae and ferns.
Surreal, unreal, mystical, magical
glens that impact our imagination.
Light filters through the dense canopy
and dances on the cascading waters.
Some crannies dark and foreboding,
others pierced by radiant beams of brilliant light.
There are many such places in Scotland.
Gorges on the River Findhorn, The Hermitage in Perthshire,
Corrieshalloch Gorge in Wester Ross.
Puck’s Glen in Argyll and
Finnich Glen in Stirlingshire, to name but a few.
Reelig Glen, near Beauly in Inverness-shire is shown here.
The Moniack Burn flows northwards to the Beauly Firth
through this primeval, other worldly glen.
Previous flows, particularly following Ice-Ages,
eroded the local metamorphosed sedimentary rock
to produce a gorge, a cleft, over 200 feet deep in places.
This seemingly Jurassic landscape, has its own living giants,
trees between 150 and 220 feet tall!
An amazing and beautiful place.

White Light White Peak, the live show, is a personal journey through a year in the White Peak told through poems and projections. see: www.whitelightwhitepeak.com
“a beautiful work of art in every one of its facets – poetry, photography, stagecraft, soundtrack.”
Jim Marriott – Buxton Festival Fringe review.
"Summed up in one word - mesmerising." (Caroline Small, events manager at The Green Man Gallery, Buxton).
Touring the Peak District and beyond, September and October - with more dates planned for 2020.
Starting in the depths of a snowy winter, this is a poetic journey through a White Peak year, including encounters with the weather, wildlife and people; some amusing, some thought-provoking and many involving a Springer Spaniel...or two. The poems are told from memory and in a conversational style; more like miniature short stories at times, complete with twists and some happy endings.
The White Light is all in my monochrome photography: Atmospheric landscapes, wildlife shots and enigmatic moments, reflecting the images and moods heard in the poems and projected onto a large screen throughout the performance. With the occasional soundscape, (captured locally - and in all weathers) the whole is a highly immersive experience; the culmination of five years' work.
"White Light White Peak", the book, is published by Fly on the Wall press - order a copy here: www.flyonthewallpoetry.co.uk/shop Copies for sale at a discount (and signed!) at the live event if you buy the programme, which contains a supplement of seven poems with photographs.
A review of White Light White Peak – The Book:
“A joyous book - one to be slowly savoured. The black and white photos are truly atmospheric, the snippets of prose down-to-earth and gently humorous, while the poems are a wonderful celebration of nature. Simon Corble produces a little bit of magic in White Light White Peak, capturing the ethereal beauty of England's first national park. This is a book to keep and cherish.”
Helen Moat, freelance travel writer and book reviewer - author of "The Slow Guide to the Peak District".
An earlier variation on the image Diagonal Pattern, from two images back.
Though I prefer to use masks, I finally edited my brush for this by making a brush and using it with the eraser tool.
GIMP has a tool called the Paths Tool, which is like the Pen Tool in Adobe. I used it to create the brush used in this pattern.
Masking is easy; clipping masks are rather confusing. Just what I need to keep my mind occupied : )
This path leads to looming, low and ominous clouds on the horizon - all who tread forward be not feint of heart!
