First thing you have to understand is that I live in a very rural part of South Georgia where the flash of a caution light is excitement. Then what should appear overhead my house was the passing Goodyear blimp. It was a calm sunny October day when I heard this loud fan sound approaching from the north northwest. My first thought that it was a big truck up on the highway, but to my surprise it was a blimp that passed directly over my house heading towards Florida.
One of the few times I've not been driving. I wound down the window in the backseat and stuck the lens out the window with a small aperture and slow shutter speed.
I quite like the effect as we whizzed by the Knab in Mumbles:)
No trip to Wiltshire is complete now without a passing Red Kite. Numbers are slowly growing as they establish in this county

As I was chasing a BNSF coal load west, I noticed intermediate signals on Main 2 were green behind me, indicating a westbound was likely on the move. I found it, a westbound UP coal empty, just east of the crossover at Narrows. Turns out this coal empty is headed for the Skyline Mine on the Pleasant Valley Subdivision.

I travel mostly by train and tube and only happened to be on the bus because of weekend underground works - and - I think I have a new passion - from the top of the bus, at the front (and having one of the 4 available seats is a matter of great luck) and with the red light against the bus, it is possible to watch people crossing without them being aware of me.
There again it is a matter of luck, because there is no possibility of orchestrating anything or moving more than half a metre in either direction (if that) and the bus window may be grubby, but there are fascinating combinations and I experienced a feeling of witnessing something of a larger picture that the participants were unaware of, except from their own purposeful point of view.
I think this is much better large.
