Two AI images merged together and then used one of photoshops new parametric filters to give the vintage style look.

Architects: Zaha Hadid Architects, 2011.

The riverside elevation.

My long awaited visit to this building was in two parts. The late evening sun meant the museum was not open, very few people were to be seen around because of buildings secluded position. Every gentle curve, slightest change of angle with beautifully crafted metal covering with raised seams accentuated by the golden sun was beautiful indeed. The boundaries between architecture and art were truly blurred. The building's location on site was excellent and sensitive delicate landscaping gave the whole experience an extra flip.

The disappointment of not seeing the inside was acceptable and almost welcome as I was very tired and happy to come and revisit the inside the next day.

Object #5, 2011. Parametric object, CNC milled 12mm plywood. Total size 250 x 180 x 250 cm.

based on parametric equations:

x=sint[e^(cost)-2cos(4t)+sin^5(1/(12)t)]

y=cost[e^(cost)-2cos(4t)+sin^5(1/(12)t)]

Utilizing the Rock Wren image adjacent to this image in my photo stream and the new "Parametric Filter" Symmetry in Photoshop Beta software this "appeared." The filter has lots of control sliders that will take a while to learn.

This project is designed in a graduate design studio at the Academy of Art University. Using parametric manipulation processes, the focus of this project is to generate a form catalog of different morphing forms to be used as a tectonic reference to inform the architecture of the project. The final result is achieved by analyzing these forms and borrowing elements that best represent different needs of the program.

Experiment in the serial nature of parametric logic. 25 unique objects are generated by a single algorithm, differentiated by randomized input parameter. This process reveals clusters or typologies of certain forms that the system is likely to produce.

Each model is approx 7 cm in radius, with a typical height of 10 cm.

The structure is generated using the free Sverchok Add-on for Blender. This allows parametric design in Blender.

Blend files are available via the GooglePlus group of Sverchok or leave me a message.

The laser-cut paper models are the result of a collaborative design studio of the Faculty of Architecture and the Faculty of Product-Design at the University of Kassel. The students went through a one week drill of Rhino Scripting and subsequently designed and implemented their own parametric modules. The propagation of modules along a three-dimensional guiding geometry is twofold: In the first iteration a centre line model of the structure is generated and transferred to a structural analysis program. In the second iteration the actual modules are generated driven by the guiding geometry and the local forces derived from the preceding analysis. Manfred Grohmann, Markus Schein, Oliver Tessmann

Wideangle shot of Birminghams Selffridges. As much as I like the building, from street level you can see why some people have likened it to a giant space slug.

Wikipedia, whilst describing Birminghams Bull Ring, states : "It features a dramatic landmark building, housing a branch of Selfridges department store to a design by the Future Systems architectural practice. The store is clad in 15,000 shiny aluminium discs and was inspired by a Paco Rabanne sequinned dress. The Selfridges store cost £60 million and the contractor was Laing O'Rourke. Covering an area of 25,000 square metres (270,000 sq ft), the designs for the Selfridges store were first unveiled in 1999, not long before demolition of the original shopping centre began. The Selfridges store has won eight awards including the RIBA Award for Architecture 2004 and Destination of the Year Retail Week Awards 2004.

There is a multi-storey car park opposite Selfridges on Park Street which is connected to the Selfridges store via a 37 metre long, curved, polycarbonate-covered footbridge, known as the Parametric Bridge, suspended over the street."

This is a parametric shutter and pinhole clamp designed to be fastened onto a small coffee can (espresso-sized) or similar. Used with sheet film or photographic paper, this kind of pinhole camera needs to be loaded (in the DARK) with fresh film or paper for every exposure.

Mount the shutter on the cap for a classic anamorphic pinhole camera.

The tripod mounts are pending as of these uploads.
