My dad passed away late last year, and in the process of settling his estate, my awesome little sister went through his papers - stashed in these very old wooden National Biscuit crates - and divided them to give each of the four of us his children an equal(+/-) mix of mementos. Those mementos arrived at each our four homes (in time for Christmas) inside one of these crates, the end-panel of which is shown here. In my crate, among other items, were: his birth certificate, his college transcript, and a formal black-and-white photo portrait taken when he was about 20 years old. What treasures!
An old professor said marking exam papers is like ironing clothes: you must do it every day because otherwise it piles up.
