I bought these and have been saving it for some time. Recently, I have decided to use some of them for origami (compound of 5 octahedra and japanese brocade).
Gift wrapping paper is just one of the many paper options for origami. But plain paper works well too in showing the actual beauty and shape of the origami. Be it matte, glossy or textured - do give it a try on models you think it will suit best. Enjoy :)
Playing around with the layers, I added another "New" Variation J to this series. This variation is actually the 6-Pointed Star G. I only changed the gender of some of the folds. The back of the model is the Basic 6-Pointed Star A.
The model is assembled from 6 modules folded from 7.5cm square Duo-coloured papers. Numerous patterns can be generated by adding simple folds to certain parts of the module.
There are no diagrams for this "New" variation. The diagrams for the earlier variations are posted in my old website - web.singnet.com.sg/~owrigami/geomet.htm [not updated]

Teachers Association, etc., and was the first black woman to serve on the national board of the YWCA. She lectured and wrote about black women, education, and race relations.

firedamp was ignited when the picks of a coal cutting machine operating on a retreating longwall face struck pyrites. The explosion spread through 16,000 yards of roadway and caused the deaths of 81 persons. Two persons died in the ensuing rescue operations.
Easington Colliery is situated on the coast in the County of Durham, between the ports of Seaham Harbour and West Hartlepool, nine miles north-west of the latter. There are two principal shafts, both circular and both 20 feet in diameter. The North Shaft, the downcast, was sunk to the Hutton Seam at a depth of 1,430 feet, the present winding level being at the Main Coal Inset at a depth of 1,130 feet. The South Shaft, the upcast, is 1,500 feet deep to the Hutton Seam. Both are used for winding men, mineral and materials. A third shaft, the West, 470 feet deep, is connected to the South Shaft by a drift at the 164 feet level. Although sinking was started in 1899, coal drawing did not begin until 1910 because of difficulties encountered in passing through waterbearing strata.

Our kingdom for a CMS!
Experimentation was at the heart of this newspaper project. A chance for us to remind ourselves of the process of creating copy for a deadline, without the luxury of a CMS and theoretically movable deadline.
We had to meet the 2pm, Tuesday 25 January deadline with Newspaper Club in order to get these papers in the post in time for delivery on 1st February.
In the rush and as expected, some things were missed and exist here, all marked up for all to see, as a sobering memory of a legacy of print which digital, theoretically, can help us hide.
