The Remarkables is a remarkable set of mountain ranges that dominate the mountane terrain of Queenstown. And one of the best places to appreciate this vista is from atop the Skyline Gondola. An endless blue sky punctuated with clouds drawn by a paintbrush reflects on the glistening waters of Lake Wakatipu. Rising up from it's long coastline are the Remarkables on one side, and towering mountain peaks on the other. This is the amazing setting for Queenstown, an unforgettable adventure destination.

We often forget that it is possible to change the format of a photo in post-production. Originally in 24x36 format, it is possible to transform the photo to obtain magnificent landscapes in panoramic format. What's more, with a high-resolution sensor, the amount of detail that is preserved is truly impressive.

A panoramic shot of an F-84, which evidently preceded the more famous F-86. This is housed at the Yankee Air Museum at Willow Run. Note the obvious distortion, which was more pronounced on the nearby F-4 Phantom.
A stitched panoramic of Burgh Island, shot from Bantham on a rather windy day!

I took a drive around the loop with Dad to help him with some things. I got some photos on the way back, it was a nice day out but it was pretty cold around the ocean. A lot of ice and wind. None of that weather stopped people from fishing or snowmobiling though.

this is the best result I've had stitching this view with any camera, period. I've tried it with 5D and 7D in the past and failed.

The Karnataka Sampark Kranti Express threads its way through the Shindavane Ghat section outside Pune. The panoramic stitch shows the train exiting a tunnel and onto two major viadiucts before heading into a tunnel again.
I know that panoramics are hard to see on flickr, especially when they are so long. But I thought I would share this anyway. View large on a big screen if you can!
This is a panoramic of Snowdon and the surrounding peaks. It is a shot that I have wanted to take for a while and tonight’s shot is a 'trial run' on the location for when we get some clearer skies. This was taken from Mynydd Mawr or 'Big Mountain' in English. Hopefully I will be able to get back up here on a clear day as I think it will be one I print.
Thanks for looking!
