So yesterday morning i woke up and checked sunset/high and low tides, same routine every weekend on my days off and i noticed that the tide was going to be reasonably low at sunset that evening, 0.03 meters... so this could plan out to be a shot i have been waiting for, for a long time now
So keen as, the camera was on charge and filters cleaned, boots and thermals at the ready!
I find the best way to get here is from Bedes school down the steep steps and along the coastline or alternatively a little further along the cliff and down cow gap.The walk with all the gear and tripod is fairly hard going but more so slippery so do be cautious if you are going to head this way.
Well i arrived there and walked around for a while trying to frame compositions and there wasnt really much i liked to be honest, but i was always wanting a panoramic from here, also check out david moyes profile as he has a great mono too.
I had to wait for the tide to go out a little futher to get what i wanted so after trying to shelter in bloody windy conditions i headed down to set the tripod up for the the 7 shot vertical stitch.
Unfortunately sunset never came to much this evening which is typical but never the less i managed to achieve this shot, so hope you all like and thankyou for viewing, all comments always appreciated

I know that panoramics are hard to see on flickr, especially when they are so long. But I thought I would share this anyway. View large on a big screen if you can!
This is a panoramic of Snowdon and the surrounding peaks. It is a shot that I have wanted to take for a while and tonight’s shot is a 'trial run' on the location for when we get some clearer skies. This was taken from Mynydd Mawr or 'Big Mountain' in English. Hopefully I will be able to get back up here on a clear day as I think it will be one I print.
Thanks for looking!
This is the Hudson River at it's widest point less than a half hour's drive away from the NYC city line in the North Bronx. I was here for the day with my gym closed down for months now and bored to tears of walking down the same old streets in the neighborhood did a lengthy 2 hour exercise walk which may not sound that much to a younger person but at my age is a good bit of exercise. Over here the river is over two miles wide and the current is very mild compared to around a hundred miles upstate where during the spring whitewater rafters can encounter class V rapids after heavy rains which I did about thirty years ago and saw another raft that was with us get flipped over with all those thrown into the freezing river which still had large hunks of ice in it. Luckily no one was hurt but it was the first and last time I'd ever go rafting in cold weather. To the left is the Tappen Zee Bridge AKA Governor Mario Coumo Bridge were I-87 runs over that will take to eventually take you to the State Capital in Albany and then to Montreal.
Taken on the last landscape shoot of my NZ workshop. I'm not generally a great fan of the panoramic format which so often seems to be the domain of a by-the-numbers style of landscape photography. However on a morning where I didn't expect to come back with anything, I'm pretty pleased with the result.
More information on this unique location and the shoot itself on the blog.
