This one is for bobbat. I'm sure he's a winner as far as she's concerned... View On Black

It turned out nice this afternoon, after the thunder, lightning and heavy rain, earlier in the day. Perfect conditions for the stand-up paddleboarders.

Despite being early November, the temperature was pretty mild this afternoon, after the morning rain stopped, and Portobello, Edinburgh's seafront area, was pretty busy. People were out strolling the Promenade, eating at the wee cafes along it by the beach, some were cooking on the beach, others walking dogs, some playing beach volleyball, others even going in for a swim while rowboats and paddleboarders were out on the water.

Well we are the end of February, and at least the weather is better and days getting longer.

Day out in Cleethorpes with the Jill..

In the car this time, not on the bike!

It was like a summer's day!!

Fish & chips on the beach with a cuppa, Ice cream to follow!!

Spotted some cool artwork too..

Artwork by Woskerski..

London-based international artist ‘Woskerski’ is currently brightening up Cleethorpes with what will be a colourful and cheerful mural, to be seen from the nearby promenade and by visitors arriving to the resort by coach or train. The rooftop-high piece of art is being created on the side of the Old Vic pub, at the junction of Grant Street and the High Street, and is certain to be spotted by visiting paddleboarders bobbing along on the waves in the spring and summer months.

Woskerski will use a variety of styles and mediums for the mural, which has been chosen to complement the area, and will be completely relevant to Cleethorpes and what it has to offer both residents and visitors.

'SCARBOROUGH PADDLE BOARDER' - 25th JUNE 2016

Weymouth, November 2020

A paddleboarder paddleboarding along the Morro Bay.

A paddleboarder navigates the Chicago River just dyed green.

Photo shot with a Nikon F3 and a Nikkor 50mm f/1.4D lens. Camera was loaded with Kodak Ultramax 400 film. Negative scanned with an Epson Perfection V500 Photo scanner.

Lake Michigan was a bit active yesterday morning, so I went to take a look. This solitary paddleboarder was enjoying himself. While I enjoyed watching him, I did wonder about his solo activity because of the strong rip currents that were present. He seemed to have good karma and eventually made it back to the beach safely.

Coltishall, on the Norfolk Broads.

We were sitting outside the Rising Sun pub watching the world go by on the water.

Taken with my Fujifilm X-T30 II camera and a XF18-55mm lens.

I just arrived at the beach to shoot the sunset when this paddle boarder hopped on the water. Taken at Crescent Beach, Canada.

My original plan had been to shoot the 40 hauled railtour crossing the Yare on this, Thorpe Bridge, but alas I had forgotten to bring my wide angle lens with me which I found is absolutely necessary for an eastbound so carried on to the far end of the Country Park instead. There was a decent reflection as can be seen here but no trace of one further east, which was disappointing to say the least. Paddleboarders are a new feature on the river since my last visit here!

My birthday today. I was working during the day, but I did have a little gardening break at lunchtime, and Tim and I got out for a walk in the beautiful weather in the evening. We drove to Larkstone car park, then walked to Rapparee Cove (which was a bit less spacious than we've seen it before, as the tide was well in), and then on around the harbour. Back at home, Tim cooked me a delicious figgy chicken curry for dinner. So good! He bought me some excellent presents, too - a Fitbit watch, a 5TB hard drive for my photos, a cloud spotting book and a Pathfinder book of walks on Exmoor. Perfect :)

A golden sunrise catching on the spray from the top of a wave at Lorne on Victoria's south coast as a paddle surfer waits for the right wave.

That paddle is probably one or two feet from the camera.
