Back to the W suffix on the bridges as I was passed by a couple of paddleboarders about a mile from Trevor Basin.
Christmas morning,
Morro Bay, California
I happened onto two bedecked paddleboarders, this one with a passenger.
There were a few hand-powered entries in the annual parade--paddleboarders, kayakers & canoeists.

Sunset capture from the beautiful Poole harbour in Dorset. On a lovely evening like this 'you can find groups of people on the small beach and along the seawall sitting and watching the setting sun.
This was taken a few weeks ago, before Halloween mania hit, and I like it. It's Kristen and Benni, both unaware I'm taking their photo. They became such good friends the week Kristen visited.
Kristen is looking at a small group of 6 or 7 swimmers who swam a mile and then came in to shore on the next little beach. There's a paddleboarder out there with them.
Early Easter Monday a.m. and what else could be better than a solo sail. Sadly it is not going to last very long.
If you are in this picture pls feel free to contact me via flickr mail.

Paddleboarders passing Magdalene College early on a Sunday morning.
Back in June I took part in the annual Photo24 challenge along with about 200 other photographers. Having taken part in the event in London for about seven years for the first time the event was held in Cambridge.

From Wikipedia, "Magdalene College is a constituent college of the University of Cambridge. The college was founded in 1428 as a Benedictine hostel, in time coming to be known as Buckingham College, before being refounded in 1542 as the College of St Mary Magdalene.
Magdalene counted some of the greatest men in the realm among its benefactors, including Britain's premier noble the Duke of Norfolk, the Duke of Buckingham and Lord Chief Justice Christopher Wray. Thomas Audley, Lord Chancellor under Henry VIII, was responsible for the refoundation of the college and also established its motto—garde ta foy (Old French: "keep your faith"). Audley's successors in the mastership and as benefactors of the college were, however, prone to dire ends; several benefactors were arraigned at various stages on charges of high treason and executed."

I was watching this paddle boarder heading towards the pier whilst beach side and hoping he would linger about for a while. Decided to head onto the pier and try to create a composition with him in frame, and as it turned out I came away with lots of compositions i`m really happy with. Here is one of them.
I put this on instagram hoping also to find the paddle boarder, and by the power of social media, he appears but sadly his name is Dan, and not Paddler Pete.
These two paddleboarders and their passengers must have found a good fishing hole. They were both fishing in the same area of Canyon Lake in Arizona.
Mid Spring Sunrise seascape with flat surf and clear skies at Umina Beach on the Central Coast, NSW, Australia.
Despite being early November, the temperature was pretty mild this afternoon, after the morning rain stopped, and Portobello, Edinburgh's seafront area, was pretty busy. People were out strolling the Promenade, eating at the wee cafes along it by the beach, some were cooking on the beach, others walking dogs, some playing beach volleyball, others even going in for a swim while rowboats and paddleboarders were out on the water.

Probably nearly all Lesser Scaup, Aythya affinis,
In the bay (Morro Bay), seen from Sweet Springs Nature Preserve,
San Luis Obispo Co., California
There are hundreds of scaup in this cove often during the winter, but yesterday they were closer to shore and not being disturbed by kayakers and paddleboarders. A nice reprieve.
I spent a lovely morning at Buttermere. Very few people around at this hour, tranquil. It was nearly a perfect reflection, just a slight wind disturbing the surface. I'd spotted the paddle boarders a few minutes earlier so I knew they were going to create some ripples. As it turned out, they actually gave the image some character, I like the effect. it adds some dynamics to the scene.
