The end of the #summer and beginning of fall brings with it a #business #shopping season for the companies that sell products online. During these seasons, it gets important for the e-commerce companies to be ready for an influx of orders. This preparation helps the companies to avoid shipping delays and/or slowing down of the #warehouse #workflow.

In this article, we are going to discuss a few tips to help you get prepared for the busy seasons.

Getting started with the preparation

During holiday season, e-commerce businesses get immense amount of web traffic due to obvious reasons. In such seasons, it gets important for the warehouse managers to take actions immediately. Procrastination is not an option here. The need of the hour is to stay prepared for the huge #web #traffic which usually brings with it a bulk of orders to be delivered.

Update branding

With a huge workload, it is quite easy to forget about the branding. During holiday season, it is very important for the warehouse managers to make sure that there are enough of the branding materials available on each of the platforms. That is due to the fact that updating branding materials can be quite helpful in building trust. A research suggests that 87% of the shoppers make their minds about writing reviews on third party websites after viewing marketing materials.

Stock up

When there is a surge in sales, more inventory and packaging materials are required. Therefore, it is quite important for the warehouse managers to stock up everything which is required for the preparation of packages which are to be shipped. The packaging materials may include packing tape, boxes, branded labels, bubble wrap, and void fill.

Fulfillment automation

The fulfillment #automation tasks can make the packaging and shipping process quite easier and smoother. You can use several automation tools in this regard. One of the tools to talk about is the ShipWorks’ ShipSense. ShipSense can be helpful in automatically filling shipping information of the existing customers. This automation can save time while improving efficiency of operations.

Strategy for quality control

Quality in the workflow, product packaging, and overall customer experience are pretty important factors for any business that sells products online. These factors can be taken care of with the help of effective quality control strategy. Certain shipping platforms are very helpful in formulating and implementing a quality control strategy. One of the tools to talk about is the ShipWorks.

Another aspect of using these tools is that they are pretty much helpful for the warehouse managers in anticipating any challenging that might slow down the workflow.

Wednesday 25 November, Belfast:- Asda Northern Ireland and Active Communities Network revealed the details of a funding package close to £600,000 which, over the next three years, will support some of the most vulnerable and ‘at risk’ young people in the region.

The donation from the Asda Foundation – the largest provided to a local charity or group to date –extends Asda’s partnership with sport for development charity, Active Communities Network, and aims to support youth outreach into areas with high social deprivation, delivering clear progression pathways into citizenship and employment.

Active Communities Network has been operating in Northern Ireland since 2009 promoting personal, social and community development for young people through involvement in sport, physical activity, arts and culture. The partnership with Asda first began in early 2014 following an initial donation of £58,000 and was accompanied by a trial outreach programme in the areas of North and West Belfast - supported locally by both the Asda Shore Road and Asda Westwood stores.

The partnership has seen over 500 young people in Belfast engage with sport and youth programming to date, with many receiving accredited training and qualifications in citizenship and volunteering. Nearly a quarter of those who have participated in the programme have also gone on to access apprenticeship schemes and work placements.

As part of this new phase of activity, Active Communities Network will open hubs in Coleraine, Omagh and Portadown and work alongside the Community Life Champions (CLCs) at each of Asda’s 17 stores in NI* to run outreach programmes across the region. The Asda colleagues will undergo training enabling them to provide support by mentoring young people, shadowing them during sport and youth work as well as offering them work placement opportunities. It is expected that over 1,500 young people will engage with and be supported by this programme annually over the three years.

The announcement was made at an event held at Stormont in Belfast, hosted by the First Minister, Peter Robinson MLA and deputy First Minister, Martin McGuinness MLA. Also in attendance were staff and coaches from Active Communities Network, colleagues and CLCs from Asda and young people aged 14-19 years old from North and West Belfast who have attended previous Asda Foundation and Active Communities Network sessions and gained certificates in cookery and nutrition as well as basic first aid in partnership with the British Heart Foundation.

For more information about the partnership programme or to get involved, contact Active Communities Network on 020 7407 8177, Tweet @ActiveCN or email info@activecommunities.org.uk

Proper labeling and tagging of inventory are necessary for efficient shipping and #inventory management. Tags are helpful in the identification of items and managing the products. However, proper labeling is a significant element for customers and employees. So, they can understand the stock details and products’ condition. Moreover, for making your #management easy, labels and tags are available in different colors. They help give every product a different color code and identification. Color codes and labels make the #shipping process, stock rotation, and employees’ work effective and efficient. However, labels have made the work of employees easy. They can save more time now. Thus, employees can work now in an effective manner. Moreover, you can paste a cautious tag, on your packings, your product will have special handling while shipping.

COFFICE

Original Art Design -Gary Wendt, 1991

Shall I make a long story short? In 1991 my dear bandmates and I made record... er a cassette, actually. We sold it at our gigs, and to family and friends. Two of the songs got a little airplay on our local NPR station. The band played from 1990 to 1993, and it was a seminal experience in my career. The friendships formed with my Akoustik Brothers and Sister are lifelong and unique.

Recently, (hell, months ago!) My Brother, biological brother, that is, started asking me if Oval Window was ever re-recorded onto cd. I did not know, but later asked my Akoustik Brother Link. We have all gone our separate ways, and while we live within forty miles of each other, we rarely see each other. We talk on the phone a few times a year. Anyway, he had just happened to have a friend make a copy for him. Last week I went to my old hometown of Denton to pick up a copy from him. We also jammed a little. (I am going to have to do that more often. I have hardly improvised since joining Fort Worth Symphony full-time, and I miss it.)

So, inspired by My Brother's persistent interest in our music, and the wonderful timeless friendships, and my own wonder at how "that old stuff still sounds pretty good!", I spent many hours over the last few days suing my photo and photoediting skills. Back when we made that music, I never would have imagined this other, visual, creative outlet in my life. I hope that the refurbished packaging will make a nice little gift to my Brothers and Sister, both kinds, in honor of our bonds.

Fizeau Instrumentation Package

You are looking at an instrumentation package that was recovered from the Fizeau bunker at the Nevada Test Site. The package, which was suspended on a coil spring to absorb the jolt from the explosion, was called a "pogo stick" by the workers. The bunker housed the scientific instruments, recorders, and cameras used to capture temperature, pressure, radiation, and neutron flux data generated by the Fizeau device which was exploded 500 feet above the bunker. Prior to archaeological recovery of this instrumentation package, the tape recorders and a unique system that minimized the damaging effects of the electromagnetic pulse had been removed from between the control box (top) and the seven-panel plug-in instrument cluster (center). The plug-in instrument panels you see were used to calibrate individual weapon components prior to the test. Above the panels are cables leading to the metal control box that were used to relay the first few milliseconds of the Fizeau event signal to 84 tape recorder channels. There were three other instrumentation packages in the bunker with different instrument clusters that included oscilloscopes and oscillographs.

Preserving America's Nuclear Testing Heritage

America's atmospheric testing program was of extraordinary significance both nationally and internationally. The specialized instrumentation and support facilities are the most visible reminders of this watershed period in American history. Most of the remaining artifacts from this program exist at the Nevada Test Site. The Desert Research Institute began historical evaluations of nuclear testing structures in 1991 and later expanded its mission to include historic preservation activities, recovering artifacts, and collecting paper records and oral histories. In November 2000, a team surveyed the Fizeau bunker to determine its present contents. Emery Whitlow, a former Sandia National Laboratories employee who had worked in the Fizeau bunker in 1957, served as the team's subject matter expert. William Gray Johnson, an archaeologist with the Desert Research Institute, headed the recovery of the Fizeau instrumentation package. He is shown at right dressed in anti-contamination gear, which was required as a precaution but, as expected, proved unnecessary.
