A suspicious package was reported outside 725 Commonwealth Ave, a building on the Boston University campus, at approximately 4:45 pm on April 16, the day after the Boston Marathon was hit by explosions that killed three and injured over 100.
By 5 pm, bomb-sniffing dogs had swept the area, nothing was found, and the area was given the all-clear.
For this is a project I had to design graphics for an olive oil company based out of Georgia. My group had to develop the packaging and graphics. We selected a square glass bottle and I developed the graphics.
I used an oak tree (because its Georgia's state tree) that wraps around the bottle. The idea is to make it flow around the bottle. I used the company's logo and brand colors. The gray section is the front panel of the bottle.

The workhorse of the WIPP transportation system, the TRUPACT-II, was the first package used to ship non-remotely handled, or contact-handled, TRU waste to WIPP in 1999. The TRUPACT-II is constructed with inner and outer containment vessels. It measures 2.4m (8ft) in diameter by 3m (10ft) high and holds up to fourteen 55-gallon drums, six 100-gallon drums, two standard waste boxes, or one 10-drum over-pack. The TRUPACT-II’s closure configuration, used for both the inner and outer containment vessels, was designed to facilitate the large number of shipments that would be made to WIPP, along with minimizing package weight. The overall design also maximizes payload weight capacity. Up to three TRUPACT-IIs are shipped at a time on a single trailer. Shipments are kept within highway legal weight limits of 35.7t (80,000 lbs).
The smaller HalfPACTs, certified in 2000, are more efficient when transporting more densely configured contact-handled TRU waste. A HalfPACT measures 2.4m (8ft) in diameter by 2.3m (7.5ft) high and holds up to seven 55-gallon drums, four 85-gallon drums, three 100-gallon drums, or one standard waste box. For weight management purposes, a typical shipping configuration consists of two TRUPACT-IIs and one HalfPACT.

This week I received a lot of packages. Most of them were either textbooks or something school related. I really like getting things in the mail. Theres a little excitement you get when you see the thing you just bought and you get to open the packaging, even if it is just a textbook. Plus there's those few days of waiting to see when your package comes, adding to the excitement. Getting packages is not a huge part of my life by any means, but I find it important. It can be that small thing that can change a day.
I found out that my school offered Adobe Lightroom 4 for free, so today was my first day playing with it again. I haven't used Lightroom in a few years, and I wish I had some more time to relearn everything today, but I will have to save that for later.
