The original Mini Cooper was launched in 1961 as a sporty and competition based car, the normal Mini 848cc engine was given a longer stroke to increase capacity to 997 cubic centimetres increasing power from 34 to 55bhp. The car featured a racing-tuned engine, twin SU carburettors, a closer-ratio gearbox and front disc brakes, uncommon at the time in a small car. One thousand units of this version were commissioned by management, intended for and designed to meet the homologation rules of Group 2 rally racing. The 997 cc engine was replaced by a shorter stroke 998 cc unit in 1964. A more powerful Mini Cooper, dubbed the "S", was developed in tandem and released in 1963. Featuring a 1071 cc engine with further tuning and a 1275cc version followed. The Cooper name was dropped by BMC in 1971.

A new updated Mini Cooper named the RSP (Rover Special Products) was briefly relaunched in 1990–1991, with slightly lower performance than the 1960s Cooper. It proved popular and a new Cooper-marked Mini went into full production in late 1991. From 1992, Coopers were fitted with a fuel-injected version of the 1,275 cc engine, and in 1997 a multi-point fuel injected engine was introduced, along with a front-mounted radiator and various safety improvements.

A batch of brand new Enviro 400 bodied Scanias were delivered straight to the temporary depot in Glasgow from Alexander Dennis factory in Falkirk. Although carrying no fleet number at the time, it would later become 15979 and destined for Cheltenham.

Overnight on Saturday the 2nd December 1989 the original OWW shed at Worcester Depot was demolished with much of the building used to fill in the pits seen in this photo. The shot was taken late on Sunday morning, the 3rd December 1989. The Depot continued to function with 2 DMUs started up for workings later that day.

"Aagghh!...son of a...arrghh..."

Oww....Twice I've been dropped down here and somehow I haven't cracked my head open. Guess that's a plus...fuck, that was probably my only way up! The pipe's all bent and in pieces now, totally useless. probably can't just wait for a bunch of Nazi bastards to reel me out and do...whatever to me, there's a very nasty list. There's three other guys in here who probably tried the waiting game and it didn't end well for them. Wait...there's a piece of the pipe that broke off. Good sized, but one end's all jagged and sharp. Maybe......

During a two week closure of Pilrig Street for road surfacing, the number 11 route is being diverted via McDonald Road and Broughton Road. Here Lothian 1081 is seem heading for the city centre and Kaimes (currently standing in for the route’s usual southern terminus at Hyvots Bank because of road works). The building behind the two pedestrians dates from 1898 and was a printing works and later a publishers’ bookbinders. It has now all been converted to modern offices. McDonald Road is named after Sir Andrew McDonald (1836-1919) who was Lord Provost between 1894 and 1897. These buses started entering service with Lothian in March 2019.

Waukesha County Wisconsin's first public schoolhouse, built in 1848. This building is on it's original location within Old World Wisconsin, and was the only existing building when OWW was created. The other 65 buildings were brought to the site. This is one of two schoolhouses at OWW, however this one was modernized to 1950 standards and only used as an administration bldg.
