This is from my first roll with the Holga, and I found out too late that I was on the 16 exp setting with a 6x6 mat. This led to some happy accidents with overlap, and I look forward to working more with the camera.

I don't know what went wrong but all of the photos in this film seem to be over lapping each other and I can't figure out why but it looks kinda trippy so I uploaded them anyway

More during my favorite time to take pictures: When the morning sun starts to throw shadows, making things look a bit different, shifting our attention where it normally would not go. These were taken on a trip to Ala Moana Center this month to grab some coffee in the morning before my workshops.

Pin and sew your skirt to the bodice. Keep the bodice buttoned so that they overlap like in the above picture.

Octagon Overlap Star 8 units

back

Every since I saw Dirk Eisner's Octagon Cross module, I thought of designing something like it, and this is what I came up with. It isn't nearly as ingenious as his, but I think it still turned out nice. The end can obviously be made into many different variations, the simplest of which is shown here.

Our Daily Challenge - OVERLAP or OVERLAPPING is the topic for Monday 31 September 2015

This poor little sunflower got kinda bent in our wind storm but I kind of like how its bent over.

I shot at Tobay, but when I rewound the film, it looked as though the roll hadn't caught when I first put it in. So I put it back and took more pictures. This is the result. It's funny how it aligned perfectly, hahaha. Guess I got lucky.

P.S. Yeah, I know, it's a horrible print. I seem to be producing a lot of those lately. At least the actual shots are pretty decent.

I cannot see the frame numbers through the red window of the Adox with this film (Shanghai GP3 - the backing paper is black with pale blue numbers), so had no idea whether I was winding on enough ... well, obviously not.

Then I set up up a copying stand and photographed the negatives on a homemade lightbox. I haven't adjusted the odd WB as I like the sepia effect.

There was a decision to be made about how to capture the frames, and I decided to start as if from the "correct" beginning; it could be done differently, which would produce a different effect. Perhaps I'll try that one rainy day.

I think a series of happy accidents has created something rather strange and beautiful ...

I did this with LED lights, to experiment with multiple overlapping shadows of different densities.

Black portion is lopsided and doesn't overlap.

I jumped on the holiday bokeh bandwagon. Which do you think is better?
