Al getting ready to surf fish

A holiday added onto the end of a work visit allowed us to visit Callanais Stones, Arnol Blackhouses and Gearannan Blackhouse Village. Returning on the ferry from Tarbert also gave us chance to visit the Isle of Harris Distillery - quite impressive all round trip!

The Callanish (Calanais) Standing Stones were set in place about 5,000. Like Stonehenge, they probably served a calendar function for planting crops, but no one really knows.

I took this yesterday at the Outer Harbor. I really like the view from this particular spot, even though of necessity I had to capture the image from the wrong side of a chain link fence (which you can see toward the bottom). I'm a week or two behind in my photo editing, but I still felt like sharing this. My actual edit of the RAW file is forthcoming!
