Unfortunately, the working console of AN-TPS-1B is not all that clear. This one, plus the next 4 shots, however, are as rare as hens' teeth - at least as far as seeing the equipment in a working environment Even the American radar museum (Radomes Inc) can't show anything like this. They simply don't have any! This was not "state of the art" equipment, although it might have been in its day ! As you can see, it's been through the mill a bit; due for retirement; or even into a radar museum. Unfortunately, it didn't even make it there either - where it should be! It's a long story! The antenna was driven by motor, but if needs be, there was a wheel by your side for manual turning! Good for arm exercise!!
1. Product Overview :
SK6805-2427 is a smart LED control circuit and light emitting circuit in one controlled LED source,
which has the shape of a 5050 LED chip. Each lighting element is a pixel, and the intensities of the
pixels are contained within the intelligent digital interface input. The output is driven by patented
PWM technology, which effectively guarantees high consistency of the color of the pixels. The
control circuit consists of a signal shaping amplification circuit, a built-in constant current circuit,
and a high precision RC oscillator.

The PPI (Plan Position Indicator) in this instance is only 7 inches (17.7cm) in diameter. This display is the commonest of all - used not only by radar, but also by air traffic control, ship navigation, meteorology, etc. As a power source the 1B used a magnetron oscillator. The range is about 200 miles (321 km); as the crow flies, possibly less, about 170 miles, if that! The other screen (only 5 inches in diameter) measured the A (azimuth?) reading. The frequency used was 1220 to 1350 mc.
Testing to see if I wired the experimental battery desulphator correctly.
Battery under test/recharge is the copper top 9volt, was at 8.9 vdc at the start of the test. The yellow NiMh battery measured 9.1 vdc.
No Load Voltage on the OUTPUT leads, before connecting to the copper top battery = 38 vdc (dc scale) 27 to 49 vac fluctuating (ac scale) NOTE: The 120 vac NEON lamp glows with no load.
The little relay in this circuit is buzzing like crazy, so I suspect it won't last long, but could be surprised since there is probably very little current going through the circuit. I think the back EMF spikes from the coil, are what is meant to help desulphate and charge the Pb/Acid battery.
YES, I know these batteries are not Pb/Acid cells. Just wanted to see if the circuit was wired correctly, and if the copper top battery would actually recharge a bit.

Imhoteps Radiant Oscillator
I plan on using a solar panel as the Voltage Source, and to use this device to attempt to recover a seriously sulphated pb/acid battery, of which I can't get to charge above 10vdc.
30 minute update:
Copper Top = 9.11 vdc
Yellow Top = 8.62 vdc
60 minute update:
Copper Top = 9.25 vdc
Yellow Top = 8.54 vdc
Time to shut this buzzer off, so I can get some sleep.........
UPDATE: The sun actually poked it's head out of the clouds today, so I connected a 55 watt solar panel to the circuit and then to the battery in question. Well, make no bones about it, be CAREFUL and do not get across the output leads of this thing while it's powered by any voltage source. Quite the shocking experience! The battery in question that is so badly sulphated and who knows what else was showing just a little over 6 vdc when I started. Hope after a few sunny days, it's will slowly creep up to it's full potential, certainly hope it gets above the 10volts, I've only been able to get it to lately. Granted , it may not be just a sulphation issue, so if this circuit after a few weeks doesn't resolve the problem, I plan on dissecting the battery, to see what cell was just so stubborn to be rejuvenated.

Technically I really shouldn't be buying anything given we're packing and moving house *tomorrow*...
But this is just too much awesomeness in one box!
That funnel is for collecting sound.
It's called a Reflex Klystron Oscillator. cool eh? ;)
The 2400 MHz transverter when first assembled. Modules on the rear panel are the 10 MHz reference oscillator, phase locked oscillator on 2256 MHz, splitter/attenuator board. The two 2.4 GHz filters are on the left and the brass boxes at the front are the receiver front end amplifier and the transmitter low level amplifiers. The mixers are attached directly to the right hand ends of the two filters, only one being visible here. The transmitter power amplifier is in the larger aluminium box and a -5v bias supply for the FET is mounted on the panel closest to the front panel. The sequencer had been removed to permit some voltage measurements and a faulty soldered joint repaired. There is also a 9v subregulator that is just visible to the right of the transmitter power amp.

Here's me patching the most basic sound together since I don't have a filter or mixer yet. I've got my MIDI keyboard plugged in, then using it to make simple sounds. Very basic, but exciting nonetheless.
Extra earthing required for the tuner subchassis. Note the short copper braid. This was required to prevent the Fremodyne's local oscillator dropping out at the high end of the band.
This is my Ian Fritz DoubleDeka Ultrasonic Voltage Controlled Oscillator. Built with parts provided by The Bridechamber.
The blue breadboard holds a discrete transistor Voltage-Controlled Oscillator (VCO), the white breadboard has another VCO, a noise generator and two twin-T percussion sound generators, and the red ones have some circuits for a scope calibrator.
Legitimate Sketch. This held pretty darn true to the final piece. Missing some bits that weren't worth drawing in this image though.

Within a week of arriving at RAF Sundern, Gutersloh, I was posted out (or detached) to a small radar installation near the Iron Curtain - not all that far from Hamburg. Our unit was contained within Alma barracks, one of 3 garrison camps in the town. When I was there it was the East Lancashire regiment who held sway; and afterwards by the Highland Light Infantry in early 1957. It would be my home and workplace for the next 18 months. This was the welcoming sign at the site - 114 Signals Unit. It just so happened that I was the only Scotsman in the detachment . . . and all Scots get called "Jock" - so that was my name for most of my 2 years' National Service.

A good picture of my friend, whom I hope to meet up with again in 2013 after almost 56 years, using the slide rule and a chinagraph pencil to mark the point of reference. We used the NATO phonetic alphabet - hotel juliet lima kilo, etc - followed by 6-fig coordinates. What you can't see in this photo is the outline of the air corridors (north and middle) and the coast of the Baltic.

POLIVOKS is a polyphonic 2 OSC analog synthesizer. It features a unique set of electronic parts, reliable keyboard (49 notes F–E) made in magnetically controlled contacts; synthesis modules consist of independent boards, which is convenient for maintenance. The synthesizer has 2-voices polyphony; each oscillator works with a keyboard note independently; two types of filters – bandpass/lowpass and external input for cutoff control. In addition, Polivoks is housed in an original body of uncommon design with handy controls. Being closed with a cover, the synthesizer turns into a strong aluminum case.
Polivoks was designed by an engineering team lead by Vladimir Kuzmin from the Urals Vector Company later built by Formanta Radio Plant in the early 80's. First commercially available Polivoks was sold in 1982 with the last unit sold in 1990. Polivoks is one of the most popular vintage synths today because of its history and extraordinary industrial look. Many consider its sound capabilities to be comparable to a MiniMoog.

Telemetry is the science of measuring something in one place and reporting the results in another.
A simple example of telemetry is the automobile speedometer, which measures the wheels' rotation and presents it in miles per hour on the dashboard.
Most telemetry used in missile testing is Radio Frequency (RF) transmitted from a missile to a ground receiver. NASA uses telemetry to keep tabs on the functioning of space equipment. Telemetry has been one of the most important data sources used for testing at WSMR.
This telemetry package was discovered in an old missile assembly building in the mid-1980s. Shipping documents indicate that it was shipped to Douglas Aircraft Company at White Sands Proving Ground in 1956 and 1957.
These Commutator/ Transmitter sets are believed to have been utilized in the Honest John rocket.
Especially noteworthy is the fact that this Commutator was a motor driven, mechanical device and the VCO/Transmitter package used vacuum tubes. Today's packages are completely solid state.
How did this circa-1957 telemetry package work?
COMMUTATOR
Analog voltages representing a number of functions such as elevon, rudder and seeker head positions pressure, and battery voltages were sequentially sampled and converted to a voltage pulse temperature, train (commutated data) and sent to a VCO
VCO (Voltage Controlled Oscillator)
The voltage pulse train (commutated data) was used to drive a VCO to vary the oscillator's center frequency (called FM or frequency modulation)
TRANSMITTER
This FM (frequency modulated) signal from the VCO was then sent to a RF Transmitter (radio frequency amplifier) that transmitted the data through an onboard antenna to a ground station receiver
RECEIVER
The ground station received this transmitted data signal and sent it through an FM discriminator that changed the data signal back to a voltage pulse train.
DECOMMUTATOR
The decommutator converted the voltage pulse train data back to the original set of analog functions that were then recorded on media such as strip charts or analog tapes.

The infrared trigger introduces two new modes of operation to my camera traps:
Mode 1 is a no-hassle bream break mode. Distance is limited to approximately three feet with a single 120 degree SMD IR LED at 30mA. More powerful or more directional-beam diodes will yield a longer beam distance. Aligning this beam is trivial, with an almost 45 degree cone spread from the LED baffle (from a straight line).
Mode 2 is a proximity detector which is somewhat specialized: both the emitter and detector sit side-by-side and if an object approaches within about 1 foot the reflected IR will set off the trigger.
