Moffat’s XC Falcon car #2.
It is the old timers who were around 46 years ago and those who witnessed the legendary 1-2 finish by Allan Moffat in car #1 and his second car driven by Colin Bond car #2.
Bond and his co-driver Alan Hamilton completely controlled the 1977 Hardie-Ferodo 1000 being one lap ahead of Peter Janson and Larry Perkins who were piloting a Torana A9X in third position.
In the latter stages of the race Moffat’s car #1 was struggling with brake issues following the stint by co-driver Belgian’s Jacky Ickx who perhaps not accustomed to the Mount had applied and relied too much on the now depleted brake pads.
Moffat would in the closing stages of the race pulled rank and issued team orders to Bond to allow him to take the lead and to also create the #1 #2 finish in which both cars jockeyed back and forth taking and then relinquishing the lead.
It would be Moffat’s fourth victory at the Hardie-Ferodo 1000.

NW3: "....pat-a-cake, pat-a-cake, baker's man, bake me a cake as fast as you can!"
C: "Pat it and shape it and mark it with a 'B' ."
NW3: "And bake it in the over for baby and me!"
NW2: "Tards, the both of you."
NW3: "Fuck off, Chip."
NW2: "Don't call me that in front of the civvie!"
NW3: "Oh c'mon, Cory's the homie! Right, Cory?"
C: "Uhh, yeah...."
NW1: "Listen up! Got some bad news, the commander just---what and why?"
NW3: "What?"
NW1: "Why's that civvie out? They should all be locked in the storage room!"
NW2: "I got sick of his bullshit, uncle. I pulled one of the civvies out to keep him occupied."
NW1: "You endangered a civvie just to quell this shithead's boredom?!"
NW3: "Hey, fuck you! Cory's mah boi."
NW1: " 'Ya boi' is in deep shit. Every civvie still trapped in this mall is!"
NW2: "Well duh, uncle. They're trapped in a big mall with a bunch of trigger-happy mercs with the Bloodfalls on their way."
NW1: "The Bloodfalls ARE here, and the commander just ordered that we start offing the civvies here!"
NW2: "Seriously, uncle?"
C: "ah-offing?...."
NW3: "I-it's alright, Cory, just be cool, homeslice. Offing civvies!? are you shitting me?!"
NW2: Uncle, the reason we're in the forces is to monitor and keep civvie casualties at an absolute low, not cause more. We already fucked up hard not being at the art auction."
NW3: "Yeah! Our targets are the Bloodfalls!"
NW1: "I KNOW!!...I know!....look, as the second-in-command to this whole op, the commander trusts me to direct the forces, that's why he ordered me to give the order to start wasting the civvies."
NW3: "Aaaaaand?"
NW1: "I have the choice to disobey. We're not killing anyone except our original targets."
C: "Oh thank god...."
NW3: "See Cory? We're cool!"
NW2: "Are we? If that robotic asshole knows you disobeyed his orders, we're all gonna get our shit slapped. To death."
NW1: "Well aware. Look, the Bloodfalls just got here. The big one's taking on the drone tank outside, and his girl is in the mall."
NW3: "Great, so it's either a cyborg lunatic we gotta call commander wringing us like wet towels for disobeying orders, or an armored crazy-ass bitch with a grudge."
NW1: "Grudge?"
NW2: "You tased her into unconsciousness, remember, uncle?"
NW1: "Oh. Well, not like she'll recognize me."
NW3: "But she'll still murder the shit outta us."
NW1: "Not if all our men are hunting for her. I just sent out the order to search for her. We capture her, bring her to the commander, maybe he won't care that we didn't go ISIS on the civvies."
NW2: "But we gotta look for her, too? Uncle, she's ready this time, she'll end us!"
NW1: "We just gotta be careful. I'm more scared of what the commander will do to us, and you should too."
NW3: "Man, who put that titanium plated, 'rioded out shitbagel in charge? It was SO much better when you were at the top of the totem poll! And that's something I'd normally eat my gentleman's veggies before even thinking about saying!"
NW1: "I never was in charge....let's roll, get this over with."
NW2: "Roger roger, uncle!"
NW1: "Stop. Fucking. CALLING ME THAT!!!!"
NW3: ".......hey uh, bro?"
C: "Y-yeah."
NW3: "....here."
C: "...a gun?"
NW3: "It's just a shitty sidearm, I won't miss it. They hand these out like candy back a base."
C: "...why?"
NW3: "Look, you just heard everything, shit hit the fan. So here's what's gonna happen; you gotta get the rest of the people in the storage room out of here."
C: "Me? Why me?"
NW3: " 'cause Homie, you got the touch, you got the power. Try to escape out a side exit somewhere on this part of the mall, I'm gonna try to direct our boy's search to another part."
C: "...o-okay."
NW3: "Stay out of the front parking lot, shit's going down out there, too. Just get out and fucking run, make sure everyone's with you. I'm counting on you, brah."
C: "R-right. I'll try."
NW3: "Good. Now I know you're the guy who'd never own a gun, so if you get caught with this, just uhhh.....say you're a Trump supporter. Sick of them dirty mexicans matin' with your women and taking your jerbs."
C: "Uhh.....sure....."
NW3: "Great. When you get out of this, are we still on for Saturday?"
C: "We're there, dude."
NW3: "Sweet. See you on the other side, homie. I love you...."

Unfortunately, he would miss. Haha!
I love to see bluebells but they are getting past their best. I thought I would grab a photograph before I missed the opportunity.

I bought another "Timeless Adele & Hot Shot Nigel" from another dealer. I happy now, because I got the dolls I wanted.
Whilst I am not a fan of the well-known tax exile Richard Branson, I have to admit that his trains had a real 'stand out' livery that made for good photography. There is no doubt where your eye goes in this scene, a view down the Grand Union Canal from Great Barr Street Bridge towards the old Curzon Street station building in Birmingham. A Voyager that has yet to undergo rebranding to Avanti West Coast livery pulls away from New Street station (left) on the morning of Saturday 24 April 2021. This working was 9M50, the Edinburgh (0652 hrs) to London Euston service.
2021 represents a significant milestone in the history of the Phoenix Railway-Photographic Circle with the celebration of our 50th anniversary by publishing a book to showcase some of the members work, past and present, from 1971 to the present day. The book contains 14 chapters and 144 pages of photographs depicting the work of over 50 accomplished railway photographers with many differing styles and approaches. It takes an alternative view on photographing the railway scene over the past 50 years. The book, called 50 Years of Phoenix will be published on 14th May 2021 with pre-orders now being taken – click on this link to order your copy: www.mortonsbooks.co.uk/product/view/productCode/15554

During Napoleonic wars orders were given by officers using soldiers who played the drums and trumpets. For some can sound funny but play instruments was the only way to be listened in the battlefield. Hope you guys like the minifigs
Delivery driver waiting for the net food orders to come in. Restaurants will be allowed to partially open per 1 june, but untll then the city depends on these guys.
A few more orders turned up and made quite a difference to the looks of this.
I have the week off work, so making good progress with all builds needed to be finished for an unmentionable at the moment project ;)
I decided to play around with putting the removable door pannels on this, as the owner has them. I think it "adds something" to the model, so staying with the choice.
I've bridged the problem of the black rim within the wheel outer trim and the wheel hub, as seen on the front wheel in these pics. The rear wheel has an extended silver sticker on the inner rim, running outwards over the tyre by around 2mm, this succesfully hides that black band that was bugging me.
The main exhaust silencer on both this and my own model, will have the patterend cover over them.

Edinburgh during the easing of restrictions during the Covid-19 pandemic (tier three).
Spaces for People measures on George IV Bridge. These were installed in the Old Town of Edinburgh during the Covid-19 pandemic to provide more space for pedestrians and cyclists. Emergency Traffic Regulation Orders (ETROs) were used throughout Edinburgh to provide extra room for social distancing and cycle lanes.
Although these measures claim to improve mobility, there are complaints they have done the opposite and those with disabilites have been adversely affected. The floating bus stop outside the main central library on this street, and opposite the National Library of Scotland, has been amended. The council say they are no longer installing floating bus stops (they are intrisincally dangerous - particularly for the hearing or sight impaired - and probably contrary to the Equality Act).
The internal auditors gave the implemention of the scheme a 'red' rating in August 2021 (see below). In the wake of this, and the lack of public support for the measures, traffic experts at the council are proposing rebranding Spaces for People as ‘Travelling Safely’. It is also reported the Spaces for People measures on George IV Bridge are to be 'scrapped' although the measures in other areas are to remain (16 Aug 2021).

Alternative infrastructure for cyclists will be put in place - let's hope it is better designed with people with disabilities in mind.
"...council officials said because a new scheme for George IV Bridge/Forrest Road had already been approved by the committee the legal advice was an ETRO could not be used in that case."

The city council belatedly held a consultation on the Spaces for People measures and reported this to the council’s Transport and Environment Committee on 17 June 2021. An Evening News report stated 17,600 people responded to the online public consultation which resulted in "overall opposition for a majority of the proposals except those designed to make school areas safer and less congested."
The Herald reported: "...only 38% of the public support the council’s protected cycle lanes compared to 56% who oppose them. Only 37% of people support measures along shopping streets and 35% back leisure connections." Furthermore businesses overwhelmingly oppose the policy. (Most of the businesses on this street are restaurants and have supplies delivered through their front doors.)

In early August 2021 it emerged Edinburgh City Council's internal auditors had given the council a red rating in relation to the Spaces for people scheme. The auditor's report said there was a lack of consultation with residents and "significant and/or numerous control weaknesses were identified, in the design and/or effectiveness of the control environment and/or governance and risk management frameworks".
www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-edinburgh-east-fife-58160674
The report said the specific measures were based on suggestions from a relatively small group of officers and community stakeholders and the final prioritisation decisions were based the judgment of two of the project team.

COVID-19 wasn't particularly kind to many airlines, some coming and going with a large quantity having to restructure to cater for different travel habits. This is most certainly the case for WestJet, Canada's second largest airline which in the intervening years struggled post-pandemic but that is changing.
2025 has been a big year for WestJet which has since seen the carrier completing the full integration of Sunwing Airlines, the integration having took the best part of 2 years to complete. Furthermore, WestJet saw a 15% and 10% stakes being sold to SkyTeam members Delta Air Lines and Korean Air respectively.
Following COVID-19, WestJet's ambitions did have to be curtailed, most notably having cancelled their remaining order for 3 Boeing 787-9s they had on-order, leaving just 7 in the fleet as the carrier focused on their Western Canada operations, especially from their main hub at Calgary. With the integration of Sunwing Airlines and investment from other airlines, WestJet's future is looking promising.
On 3rd September 2025, WestJet out of the blue shadow-dropped they have placed a large order of Boeing aircraft; reported by numerous media outlets followed by Boeing and WestJet themselves, the carrier announced they will be ordering 60 Boeing 737 MAX 10s and 7 Boeing 787-9s with deliveries taking place up to 2034. Once these orders are completed, WestJet will have 102 Boeing 737 MAX 10s and 14 Boeing 787-9s in total.
What is interesting about this order as even though deliveries haven't commenced yet, WestJet is firmly committed to the large Boeing 737 MAX 10, the new fleet will enable expansion but to also replace the older Boeing 737-700/800s within the fleet. The Boeing 787-9 order is more intriguing as following the cancellation of the remaining 3 Boeing 787-9s following COVID-19, WestJet does see itself expanding long-haul again. Whether expansion will take place from Calgary, or from either Toronto or Vancouver remains to be seen.
Currently, WestJet operates 7 Boeing 787s, all of which are Boeing 787-9s. WestJet have 7 Boeing 787-9s on-order.
Golf Uniform Delta Oscar is one of 7 Boeing 787-9s operated by WestJet, delivered new to the carrier on lease from BBAM on 14th March 2019 and she is powered by 2 General Electric GEnx-1B engines.
