this may be the best of all the orchid shots I did. It turned out ok, there was a small black sign in the floral dept with the prices of orchids written on it but the back was just solid black, I turned it around and put the orchids in front of it and got the black background that makes the orchid seem to pop out a little more, it was a really small sign, but it helps in this shot. The Kenya Orchid Society have their annual Orchid SHow in Nairobi.
Having nothing better to do i lugged my camera along with me to this years exhibition and was pleasently surprised with the number of different types of Orchids on display.
Seen above is a Paph Wazdii in full bloom.
Hopefully over the next couple of weeks i shall posting more of the Orchids photos from the exhibition.

Some days you just need to walk in the swamp by yourself. :-)
On a calm morning it's a joy. Sure there is the buzzing of mosquitoes in your ear, but occasionally they'll disappear and you are left with croaking frogs, mysterious splashes, and the soft wind in the cypress. Around each corner you can find nice surprises, like these delicate Butterfly Orchid blooms. The beauty of the Everglades!
All 10 Orchid plants in the house are in full boom. These are some miniatures (they're an inch across) that have bloomed.
