A tiny bird that overflows with energy, the Ruby-crowned Kinglet (Regulus calendula) seems to forage almost frantically through lower branches of shrubs and trees. Its habit of constantly flicking its wings is a key identification clue. Outside of hummingbirds, Kinglets are the smallest of Northern American birds. This plain green-gray bird has a white eyering and a white bar on the wing. The male’s brilliant ruby crown patch usually stays hidden. Your best chance to see it is to find an excited male singing in spring or summer. The Ruby-crowned Kinglet lays a very large clutch of eggs. There can be up to 12 in a single nest. Although the eggs themselves weigh only about a fiftieth of an ounce, an entire clutch can weigh as much as the female herself. Metabolic studies on Ruby-crowned Kinglets suggest that these tiny birds use only about 10 calories per day. This male was photographed in my backyard in Garland, Texas.

Having his options severely reduced by the heavy snow this woodpecker eventually became a regular at our feeder (he knew it for months but ignored it). Still, it took me a few days to manage a shot without scaring him - got him today at the second attempt through the bathroom window.
When we were discussing options for this year's autumn hiking adventure, it almost seemed like there was nothing left in northern Scandinavia that we all still wanted to explore. However, after some discussions, we realized that Finnish Lapland might be an interesting and convenient location for our regular autumn outdoor pursuits.
After conducting some research and planning, we narrowed our focus to Finland's northwest, bordering Sweden and Norway. More specifically, we honed in on the Käsivarsi Wilderness Area, which happens to be the second-largest wilderness area in Finland.

Käsivarsi is somewhat atypical for Finland due to its higher elevation (Finland's highest peak, Halti (1,324m), is located in its northern tip), rugged terrain, and limited wooded areas. This combination sounded particularly attractive to us because it meant we would hike across various types of landscapes, both on and off marked trails.
Our itinerary was as follows: Kilpisjärvi/Saana mountain -> Tshahkaljärvi lake -> Siktagurajohka river -> Meekonjärvi lake including trip to Pitsusköngäs waterfall -> Porojärvi lake including ascent of Saivaara cliff -> Guhturgurajávri/Termisjärvi lakes -> Ailakkajärvi lake -> Kilpisjärvi.
I hope I am not the only one who is happy that summer is coming to an end. This summer was exceptionally HOT where I live. I am not a fan of the heat. I also think I can speak for just about anyone when I say, we are close to another season and year ending. I am super excited for autumn and all that is autumn in Second Life. It is not only my favorite season in RL but here also. Sweaters and jeans, boots and leggings and all the autumn colors that come with it.
This land was a piece i have been working on for the last week or so. I decorate when I need to just let go of RL and the things that are bothering me.
I went to the L2 Studio sim for a bit of inspiration when I wanted to compliment Miss Lindini Lane on her choices of Decor. Simply adore her shabby chic style. I happened to come upon this build; The Writers Shed. I have been to this sim many times and I had never seen it. So happy I had because it was so lovely to decorate. Not only that, Miss Lane was so gracious, she offered it to me as a gift ♥ So thank you again for your generous gift!
You might be able to tell, the inside is packed full of amazing decor. While this home is small, it is fabulous to decorate for any person who loves decor as much as me.
There are a few items I would like to spotlight. TBF- The Black Forest is in this round of Cosmopolitan with an amazing set. I especially like the Kerosene Lamp, it comes with different options as well as being able to carry it with a bento pose. Check out this item and the others he has just inside the entrance this round starting Monday September the 7th.

The Renault 5 is a five-passenger, three or five-door, front-engine, front-wheel drive hatchback supermini. The first series of Renault 5 was unveiled late 1971, and went on sale early 1972 with a production run to 1985, It was launched onto the right-hand drive U.K. market in the autumn of 1972, competing in the Supermini segment against the BL Mini and Hillman Imp. The R5 was styled by Michel Boué who died before the car came into production, Early R5s used a dashboard-mounted gearshift replaced later by a floor mounted gear stick. Door handles were formed by a cut-out in the door panel and B-pillar. The R5 was one of the first cars produced with plastic (polyester and glass fibre) bumpers that have become an industry standard. and the passenger compartment was very spacious compared with its competitors.
The lively TX was launched in 1982 as a sporty option, below the very high performance versions.
It was one of the first modern superminis, which capitalized on the new hatchback layout which Renault had pioneered on its R16, launched in 1965. Available as a 3 or 5 door the mechanical components came from earlier models, with a monocoque body construction, which although by now was becoming standard, it represented an advance on the mechanically similar Renault 4 and Renault 6

Low-priced elegance with numerous available options was Pontiac’s brand promise for 1937, and the Deluxe Eight Two-door Sedan delivered it in spades!
Pontiac’s straight-eight engine was stroked for 1937, bringing displacement to 249 c.i.d. (4.1l) and horsepower up to 100 – even with the increased size and power, fuel economy was improved by 10% from 1936. This engine would continue relatively unchanged through 1950.
The clean-looking dash was finished to give the appearance of walnut, and made provision for one of two optional radios at its center.
Harley Earl was able to hire great talent: Frank Hershey arrived from custom coachbuilder Walter Murphy in time to create the ’33 Pontiac styling which saved the marque; for 1935 he designed the silver streak styling that lasted through 1956. In ’36 Hershey was assigned to Opel, to be replaced by Virgil Exner who is the main fellow responsible for the attractive 1937-38 Pontiacs. Shortly, he would depart for Raymond Loewy to handle Studebaker’s account, then onto Chrysler for his greatest triumph.
