As one of the Official Photographers for the Worcester Music Festival I had the great oppurtunity to photograph some amazing acts. This was one of my favourite photos from the event.

I had photographed Richard Clarke before and this was one of my favourite shots as the lighting in the room had only show parts of him.

My sister loves her pink bathrobe during the winter. On Sundays she often never bothers to change out of it (mainly because she gets up at 14:00). But when she put it aside, Nicky took up the oppurtunity to curl up in her robe. Nice, huh?

Kirsten's nomination story

i am nominating my sister kirsten because when she was 6 years old she was diagnosed with a heart wasting disease called cardiomyopathy this resulted in her being tired all the time, not being able to walk, her body filled with fluid,. she was then sent to liverpool to have a pacemaker fitted but unfortunatly that didnt work so they tried a double one which didnt work either, so kirsten got put on the transplant list and within weeks she recieved a phonecall to tell her the good news she had a heart, she was drove to manchester airport in an ambulance and a sea king helicopter flew my mum and my sister to newcastle, then the heart transplant took place. it was a long recovery and trips to and from the hospital each week, not once did she complain when she was going through hell she always had a smile on her face, kirsten is 8 year transplant on the 19th december and is still going strong and always has that smile on her face, we are all so proud!although kirsten has slight learning difficulties she is always there to help others and this as an oppurtunity for kirsten to shine.

Just to let people know that on Thursday 15th August there will be a training exercise held outside the ICC in Birmingham town centre.

One was held in Leeds last year. Photos from the exercise are available on my photostream here. . . . www.flickr.com/photos/44472650@N08/sets/72157629610801539... just to put you in the picture on what might be involved. To keep the exercise as real as possible no details as to what the excercise will involve will be released until on the day.

It will involve ALL of the emergency services so should be a good oppurtunity to add to your collection of emergency vehicles

I little while ago i was asked to create a logo for Youth Action Network's new campaign YOUTHQUAKE.

Youth action do a lot of great things in the community making volunteering oppurtunities for young people, giving them training, skills and confidence. As well as the chance to help their community.

All this however can only happen with government funding, which of course has seen cutbacks in recent times, YOUTHQUAKE launches as a platform to make people aware of how important not only to the community but to the young people involved, this type of experience is.

Go and check them out...

As part of my job, I got the oppurtunity to spend 4.5 months in Abu Dhabi, UAE. On a trip to Dubai I was surprised to see a KFC.

Maybe you still don't know why I'm a silly guy, so I want to explain you the reason. And I'm going to do it whit the lyric of one song that I discover last week (thanks MyStaR, you're wonderful!!!).

Whatever happened to the funky race?

A generation lost in pace

Wasn't life supposed to be more than this?

In this kiss I'll change your bore for my bliss

But let go of my hand and it will slip on the sand

If you don't give me the chance

to break down the walls of attitude

I ask nothing of you

not even your gratitude

And if you think I'm corny

then it will not make me sorry

It's your right to laugh at me

and in turn that's my oppurtunity

to feel brave

Because ridicule is no shame

Oh, it's just a way to eclipse hate

It's just a way to put my back straight

Oh, it's just a way to remain sane

Every morning I would see her getting off the bus

The picture never drops, it's like a multicoloured snapshot

stuck in my brain

It kept me sane for a couple of years

as it drenched my fears

of becoming like the others

who become unhappy mothers

and fathers of unhappy kids

and why is that?

'Cos they've forgotten how to play

Oh, maybe they're afraid to feel ashamed

to seem strange, to seem insane

to gain weight, to seem gay

I tell you this

That it takes a fool to remain sane

Oh, it takes a fool to remain sane

Oh, it takes a fool to remain sane

Oh, in this world all covered up in shame

(Oh, take it to the stage)

So, take it to the stage in a multicoloured jacket

Take it jackpot, crackpot, strutting like a peacock

Nailvarnish Arkansas, shimmy-shammy featherboah

Crackpot, haircut, dye your hair in glowing red and blue

Do, do, do what you wanna do

Don't think twice, do what you have to do

Do, do, do, do, let your heart decide

what you have to do

That's all there is to find

'Cos it takes a fool to remain sane

Oh, it takes a fool to remain sane

Oh, in this world all covered up in shame

Oh, it takes a fool to remain sane

Oh, it takes a fool to remain sane

OOOOOOOH in this world all covered up in shameeeeeee

The second project of this semester was shadows and reflections. I think this is a great concept because it is very cool to see a reflection or shadow of something just like how us as people look at reflections and shadows of ourselves. I was sort of excited to start this project and see what I can create with the camera.

My photo for my shadow is of a plant in my backyard. On Sunday the 25th it was a very sunny day which was great for my advantage so I could find a shadow. I took some time to look in my backyard to see if there was anything that caught my eye with a shadow, and I found this succulent plant that had the perfect shadow. After taking a good amount of photos, I found the best photo of all and knew this was a great photo to use for this project.

My photo for my reflection is of a plant in my pool. As I said, it was a beautiful day out so it was the perfect oppurtunity to get the photo for my reflection. I have 3 plants aside my pool, that all had a reflection against my pool so I picked one of them to shoot and it only took me like two tries to get an amazing photo in my opinion.

I am very happy with the way my project turned out and I am glad we are getting cooler projects this semester because i am enjoying them a lot more.

Madingley Hall, Cambridgeshire, 2 Apr 2015

Madingley Hall was built by Sir John Hynde in 1543 and occupied as a residence by his descendants until the 1860s. It is surrounded by parkland. Queen Victoria rented the Hall in 1860 for her son Edward (the future King Edward VII) to live in while he was an undergraduate at Cambridge University. The family sold the Hall in 1871.

The Hall and its surrounding park and farmland have been owned by the University of Cambridge since 1948 and is currently the home of the Institute of Continuing Education.

The earliest recorded image of the gardens is an engraving dating from 1705, showing a formal, Dutch-style garden to the north and east of the Hall. This formal style soon fell victim to the prevailing trend for naturalistic parkland, however, and in 1756, Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown was employed to create fashionable, modern gardens. The Yew Topiary Gardens were added in 1927.

I did not know whether it was open to the public, so when I saw an advert for an Open Day I seized the oppurtunity.

Bizjets and cargo aircraft tend to turn off and go to the taxiway earlier, so there is a very small window of oppurtunity to take a pcture. Anything bigger than a 737, and you can only get a partial shot.

The plane journey going to hong kong taken with a phone camera.

This was the first time I had the oppurtunity to take photos like these, I've always been on night flights or maybe I was too young to appreciate how stunning it was.

I must've annoyed the people sitting around me as I basically took photos for the whole journey, I've never seen anything so naturally beautiful!

Definately more of the photos from this journey and the way home to come...

Whilst walking back down the yard from my train I spotted this photo oppurtunity, one ugly engine but it does brighten up this rather grey image.

I saw this wonderful bauble design on Pinterest, when I had a look at the video I couldn't believe how easy it looked. I had bought four polyystrene balls from a local haberdashery with no idea what to do with them. This gave me the perfect oppurtunity to give it a go and I'm glad I did, I really enjoyed putting it together and am very proud of what I have made. I am planning on doing the other three and givng them away as christmas gifts.

Tonight Bethany made one which goes to show just how easy they are to make. Her bauble looks fab (will post picture of it tomorrow) and she is so proud of it, she has it hanging up already in her room.

Created with fd's Flickr Toys.

The concept of Explore is not to be taken seriously but seeing one's work make it to the list is gratifying nonetheless.. I have 25 images that have been Explored so far and thats a compatible number for a mosaic so I guess the time was ripe to showcase this upload!

I would like to take this oppurtunity to personally thank Each and every one of You who has come across my photostream, and enjoyed my work – Medical related and otherwise.. I know there are certain people who follow my stream on a daily basis; To You I promise that you shall have a lot more to see, more often.. real soon.

Initially I joined a lot of groups and added a lot of pictures only to be dismayed by the fact that my copyright had been violated and the images were being used on other streams / websites without my knowledge or prior consent. I was not aware that once an image belongs to a group it can be copied just like an unprotected image. It loses the transparent layer 'Spaceball.gif' overlayed to protect it. I know anything on the internet can be copied but this just makes the job easier.

This would perhaps explain the decline in the number of pictures that have been Explored as fewer people get to see them, comment on them, fave them n so on.. And I believe I have been missing out on some of the best Flickr has to offer for the same reason.

After 2 hard drive failures (Yes - I faced the ominous Mac's Blue screen of death) and losing photo shoots in the bargain I have decided that henceforth I am going to try and upload complete Sets (and make Collections) once in a while instead of individual photographs.. this would, in the process, bring together images I really want to treasure in the long run AND You would have a chance to look at the genre of images that You fancy!

Got a rare oppurtunity to go over to Arran for the day and grabbed it with both hands even though the weather looked rather grim. Maybe I'll try Glen Rosa next time...

I'm looking for photographers to help me with my directed study for a-level photography, it has to be related to my latest project, of which the majority of photographers i'm using as researd are from here.

My main idea for it is too look at how much flickr has an effect on photographers work and if it fuels success.

So i need help from anybody who feels that flickr has helped alot with their work, maybe its given you oppurtunities you'd have never had had otherwise happened etc

please get in contact with me so i can send a quick questionarre!

and tell people about this! please pass the message on, the more people i get involved the better.
