These were all taken along the grain silo railway near Highway 55 in Minneapolis.
My first roll on my Moskva V. I had set up the camera to shoot 6x9 negatives but was advancing the film using the 6x6 setting. So a lot of overlap & double exposure here.
On the plus side, the camera seems technically sound. Focus appears to work. Lens seems good. I just need to practice with it more.
Oh, also my scanner can't handle 6x9 negatives. Which made this even weirder. In future I'll have to use a different scanner or stitch two scans together.
Shot on a Moskva 5 using very old T-Max 100. Pulled 1 stop due to age. Developed in Cinestill df96. Scanned using my Olympus OM-D E-M53 and a Takumar 50/4 macro.

Please call your cable operator...
My cable is out (disconnected actually), which is kind of annoying, but it means that my cable modem is also out which is extremely annoying. And, the DVD player runs through the cable box (TV doesn't have necessary inputs) so the DVDs that I rented to watch since I can't watch TV won't play on the TV. Luckily I can watch on my laptop, but still all around quite annoying…
Bloomington & Normal Trades & Labor Assembly, Bloomington, Illinois, Labor Day Parade, Sept 6, 2021.
So I was complaining that I wasn't getting the quality of photo I was expecting with my new (to me!) Nikon D80 (it was wonderfully, graciously given to me by a friend).
Well, there is a speck of dust trapped between the layers of glass in the lens which makes me question just how authentic a Nikon it is... but anyway...
Several comments got me wondering if maybe the fault wasn't the camera but... ME!
Couldn't be!
So I thought maybe there were some things I should try, to see if I could get better photos. The main one being changing the sharpness setting. I had it set to minimal (or none) because sharpening seemed to add a level of artificiality I didn't want.
But I wasn't happy with the sharpness of my shots!
So, DUH! I upped the sharpening. Maybe it's artificial - but I like the photos better!
2024 BLM Fire Employee Photo Contest Category - Equipment
Picture was taken while on a severity assignment in Newcastle, Wyoming on the Silver Spone Fire near Recluse. A bulldozer operator stands next to his equipment. Photo by Jennifer Wiskowski, BLM.
Went a little higher with the clarity in lightroom on this one. I think the extra grain it adds works well.
