U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Joshua Ortega, 92nd Air Refueling Squadron boom operator, prepares a mid-air re-fuel during Red Flag 14-1 over the Nevada Test and Training Range Feb. 4, 2014. Mid-air re-fueling is vital to a combat mission because it allows fighters, bombers, and other aircraft essential to the fight to refuel without having to waste valuable time refueling on the ground. The more these re-fueling operations are practiced in a controlled environment, the smoother they will run in a real-world combat environment. Red Flag is hosted at Nellis AFB, Nev., and provides realistic combat training in a contested, degraded and operationally limited environment. Doncaster Corporation Transport's 1972 Ford R226, fitted with Portuguese Caetano Estoril coachwork, stands in Pells Close prior to its obliteration by the Colonnades Shopping Centre.
This was one of the first vehicles with imported coachwork to be acquired by a municipal operator.
It became SYPTE 1019 and later passed to Turner, Ulleskelf
This morning (10th April) I woke up to some interesting news. My local rail operator has finally announced it's new franchise owner. From August 2019 Stagecoach will no longer run the East Midlands Trains franchise and from the same date Abellio take over and will become East Midlands Railway.
Love them or hate them, Abellio has had an interesting past with their Scotrail and Northern franchises, so it'd be interesting to know what happens from now. It is expected that new rolling stock will be ordered, and it's almost certain that the ageing HST sets will be replaced by brand new diesels. There will also be a network shakeup:
- The Liverpool to Norwich service is being split at Nottingham, and will become two services. There will be a Norwich to Derby service via Nottingham and the Nottingham to Liverpool service may change operator. If no operator is found, it'll stay within the East Midlands franchise.
- The Crewe to Derby service will extend to Nottingham
- There will be additional services from Sheffield/Nottingham to London, as well as services from Lincoln to London via Nottingham, Newark to London via Nottingham, and Melton Mowbray to London via Corby
- The Peterborough to Doncaster stopper service will run hourly
- There will be a service from Nottingham to Grimsby via Lincoln
- The Cleethorpes to Barton Upon Humber service will transfer from Northern to East Midlands Railway

Lisboa Carris 289 1950's operator built lightweight 4-wheel tram and trailer crossing the broad gauge railway tracks at Alcantara-Mar on route 16 to Poco do Bispo on 23 June 1980.
South Wales Transport was an early operator of the Wright StreetLite, receiving four Wheel Forward and three Door Forward variants, rented from Mistral. However, none stayed in the fleet for long.
MX12 CFU was one of a pair of WFs that arrived in Spring 2012 and were regularly found on the company's Neath area network.
This shot from February 2013 was taken as she was emerging from Library Road in the town when operating Service 251 to Cimla, which at the time was in competition with First Cymru's Service 151.
She had been returned to Mistral within a couple of years. Alexander Dennis E20Ds are now the usual allocation on the service.

This 2012 MAN TGM 4X4 equipped with a Palfinger PK 27001-EH crane attachment was seen parked at a farm entrance near the Scottish seaside town of North Berwick. The vehicle was new to the multinational engineering/construction company Balfour Beatty and was used by them in the utilities sector - likely for the installation of telegraph poles, which is presumably still the vehicle's job, albeit now carried out by a different owner.

Fleet number 874 was captured in the city’s Southside district while working route 14 from Muirhouse to Greendykes. The 2007 registered vehicle is still in an older version of the operator’s traditional colours and is seen here passing one of the city’s main police stations - St Leonard’s. Crime writer, Ian Rankin, used this location as the base for his fictional detective, John Rebus, in some of his best selling novels. This building was constructed for the then Lothian and Borders Police in 1990
