Jewel Mountain Lake is one of the very few natural bodies of water in the Boulder area. The Jewel Mountain property is a Habitat Conservation Area, a place so biologically valuable that visitation is limited. Photo by Dave Sutherland.

While checking out the bigger pieces of wreckage down the hill, I noticed this green jar. I thought it would be weird for someone to stash their garbage, so I looked closer. Turns out it was a geocache with a log that started in 2006. We signed it and put it back in its not so well-hidden place.
