Summer Carnival, similar to the carnival in Rio, is a yearly 3-day Caribbean Carnival in the city centre of Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
The big Street Parade takes places on Saturday, where colorfull costumes and floats can be seen.
The Oops a Daisy Gromit in Tyntesfield, this gromit was created by the artist Diamuld Gavin and sponsored by The National Trust.
You would almost think that the bulb would have broken. Good thing, though, I wasn't fast enough to close the shutter before the second flash...
DISCLAIMER: When light bulbs explode, little shards of sharp glass go everywhere. Unless you put something there, nothing will stop them from going into the front of your camera lens, or worse, your eye. If you do stupid stuff like this, take precautions: wear goggles, use the UV filter on your lens, restrain your household pets and small children. If you're going to be stupid, be smart, first.
A woman from the nomadic Bakarwal tribe. She was a bit surprised when I took her picture, but then settled down and chatted with us a bit later while she continued cooking over a wood fire.
Hers is a tribe of nomadic cattle grazers - mostly goatherds and shepherds.
Bakarwals lead a lonely and tough life in the high-altitude meadows of the Himalayas and the Pir-Panjal. Every year, they take their sheep high into the mountains, above the tree-line to graze in the lush meadows. It may take them as many as sixty days to reach these meadows. During the summer, they move from one meadow to the other. They generally travel in pairs but sometimes they may go alone or in larger groups (depending on how many sheep/goats need to be taken care of). During this migration their whole family accompany with their sheep and goats.
They are accompanied by their dogs, the famous bhotia or bakarwal dogs, and their pack-animals (Reference Wikipedia)
When I saw a 767 doing a B1 I thought it might be Boeing sending up the first FedEx 767 at the same time they were donating a 727, but it turns out I was wrong...

I had the greatest collection of "History of Flickr" photos too. So many cameraphone shots that have no backup! So many favorites, and comments and stuff! Snf.
The listed ex GWR footbridge was demolished by a network rail machine.150227 calls on a Wellington to Walsall service before a new bridge was constructed.

everyone has their oops moments....thought the two tiny cracks wouldn't notice once the piece was glazed....the kiln, and the laws of physics decided they did actually matter to the structure of the piece.
This juvenile gull was practising aerobatics but managed to drag his wingtip along the ground during a sharp right turn at low level. Fortunately he didn't crash 'n burn!
i was up in the studio trying to take "bright light" shots and looked down to see the guys in the doorway downstairs watching me.
