Car wreck somewhere in Moscow. I shot this one a while back but I thought it would look great with a tilt shift effect.
Bobby Rahal finding the fence at the strange "road circuit" at St. Felicien, Quebec. It was a one mile road circuit, utilizing part of an oval. This was on the oval part. The circuit ran clockwise, which means he ended up counter to the flow.
A large percentage of the drivers crashed at some point during the weekend. It was one of the most crash-filled events ever for the Atlantic series. The fiberglass experts were very busy all weekend.
When I called and made this reservation (which by the way, Chili's doesn't take reservations), I told the manager, 25 people have confirmed that they are coming to celebrate our former managers *ahem* retirement from the biz. Tell me why, oh please tell me why, 44 people actually showed up!!!! In the words of Rick Perry, "oops!"
So update time. Clearly, I've been MIA from flickr for quite some time, and I'm hoping to start uploading more soon, but man, two years of everyday, picture taking, I need respite before I move on to the next thing. After my second 365 ended, I still kept taking every days for two weeks before I had a little quiet conversation with myself which read: "its okay hon, just put down the camera. You 'can' let go." And that was it. I became okay with not having to get everything and everyone captured and posted and written about.
Still in the job hunt. Pain in the arse, really, but I have to find something. I'm okay for now financially, but if this goes another two months, I might consider working the fruit stand. Cocos fritos anyone?
And here is the news heard round the world, in girl world news. As you may or may not know, March 4, I will be in my first, well, okay, second wedding ever (the first was my play cousins, and I was 14, the dress was aweful, and I was only an usher because her mom felt us "lesser" cousins would feel left out. So having me stand and try and get folks to sign the wedding book for 2 hours during the ceremony...yeah, felt great).....but...I...digress.....
I will now officially be a bridesmaid for the first time ever, and I'm excited and nervous. I will literally be the first person, because I'm literally the tallest of the bunch by a long shot, down the isle, and I'm sort of freaking out about that. The first bridesmaid hurdle was the fitting of...dun...dun..dunnnn, the dress. I closed my eyes, and hoped the thing wouldn't be hideous....and...amazingly, its actually cute and kind of sexy. Its got this sweetheart rouched top that makes the boobs look fantastic, and this jeweled belt under the bust, and then.....this is where the fabulousness ended for me. Too many night hovering around pints o-icecream, and hanging out with Mr. McDonald, have given me this pooch which in clever clever land I have become a ninja about hiding with all sorts of clothing details, but there IS NO hiding in this dress which inconveniently has that fabulous rouching ending right above my pooch. To top it off, A-HOLE fit lady writes on my size chart, I would recommend 2 sizes up. MORTIFIED...
Fast forward a month...zip zip zoooooop...I am in full workout mode. I've got 15 weeks left people. Fifteen weeks left to make dreams come true and I am already on the right track. As of today, one month after "the dress" fiasco, I have dropped 15 pounds!!! I'm on a mission. I know, it seems cuh-razy, but I have 30 more pounds to go, and I think, I think, I can do it. Nothing motivates your arse to move, then seeing that photo and knowing, that if you don't do something, every one of her photos will have you cringing and trying to hide behind the other much shorter, much skinnier, bridesmaids. I refuse to do that damn it. I will be up front, with my toned arms and my trimmed up pooch, rocking it out.
This didn't end well... captured during a downtown walkabout with members of the Guelph Photography Club.

I thought I'd take a quick snap of flowers my daughter picked, but when I moved the rose around a petal fell off. Then when I went outside for better light a petal fell off the prickly poppy... and then another. I'm in trouble.
Our old friend Jack was in a hurry to get to a wedding two nights ago, fell and fractured his upper arm. Not a nice thing to happen on holiday.

The snow depth is about one meter or more so these things happen. Happened to me as well.
What happens next?
