Sometimes paperpiecing complex blocks can be a bit confusing....I had no idea why my machine seemed to be stuck. When I turned my work, I instantly knew. I had a good laugh! I had no idea that Organ needles would be this strong!

This is what happened when my camera decided to comit suicide at thoughts of being used to photograph the real world of politics, not even the fastest optics in a Hassleblad case could cope with speed of shady dealings in politics at the moment here in the UK. ;) (Joking)
On a more realistic note this is what happens when a gust of wind blows your tripod backwards unexpectedly, while attaching a filter -oops :(
This is the reason I haven't been as busy as usual and to make matters worse I ordered a new Canon 5D Mark 2 from www.simply-electronics.net who are a complete bunch of cowboys, and seriously need taking out as after 10 Days still haven't dispatched it. Will keep you all posted on the progress and if they come up with the goods will let them off from having a major slagging off and yes I won't be pleaseant so the post will be censored..
Also Google Checkout sux! All about protecting the merchant even if they are a dodgy off shore set up registered in IOM and based in HK.
I can issue an anti-fraud charge back so I'm kind of protected. but it makes my blood boil as Web Techie Pioneer of some 17+years to think that "Web Sting" is still as prevalent now as it was back in the early days.
Is it all a joke maybe, but thats the indifferent world we now live in and no I'm not a socialist!
I might become an MP and then I claim for it on expenses, tax free of course ;)
Google seem to like sponsoring all the wrong things too of late...I wonder why! Bing will save the world!

Lies Baas 12/12/2011 Today is my birthday, and yesterday was Mathieu's birthday!!! We had such a crazy busy wknd because of it...I almost forgot to post a picture!!!!
That time when you get all the fabric cut out for a block you want to make just to discover you used cut dimensions for the wrong size block :(
Lighting: Nikon SB-26 (flash) camera left triggered by the sound of the bulb breaking (pop!) using a HiViz sound trigger circuit. It took three tries to get this one. I had two problems, actually three:
First, I tried dropping the bulb onto a sheet of black acrylic plastic (to get a nice reflection), but the bulb only bounced, so I had to switch to a black ceramic tile. Not ideal, but it worked.
Second, I initially placed the sound trigger about a foot from the bulb, which resulted in capturing the break about a millisecond (1/1000 of a second ... the time it takes sound to travel about a foot) after it hit the tile. That wasn't long enough to actually see the bulb shattering, so I had to move the trigger back about three feet. That gave the glass a little more time to do its thing.
Third, I was getting a 2nd flash when the screwy thing on the end of the bulb hit the table. To fix that, I tied a fishing line to the screwy thing that was just long enough for the bulb to hit the table, but just short enough to keep the screwy thing from hitting. End result: One flash (one exposure) and not two.
