one of jans from last week ,we spotted this kestrel land and pop its head up raised our cameras to take some pics and a pair of oap's with walking sticks walked by us at a great rate of knots talking loudly and disturbed it one of those grrrrrrrr moments when you have to grin and bare it
Slight backtrack. Looks like amidst all the excitement of the Columbia Basin chase I forgot to include this take on the Connell elevator. During the wait for the BNSF turn I looked around a bit and this dead end elevator track caught my eye. When you have sunshine in September (or October) it's hard to beat the light, and few things look better against that September sky than a white grain elevator, in my opinion. September 4, 2023.
I'm sure that years ago crashed vehicles were usually recovered within a day or two, but this has lain here for weeks. It's a strange accident as it's on a fairly straight piece of A road that people don't normally speed on. My knowledge of modern cars is such that I don't know what it is...

I was tempted to take a shot of the menu in the pub where we had lunch yesterday: several dishes included "leaves" though a similar number featured "leaf's". In my view menus should be consistently wrong or not at all.

Thought Photographers were supposed to be observant - not until I processed this later did I see a columnless Gitzo on the ground.
I wonder who leaves his kit all over the landscape for others to photograph?
