there was no menu - the owner joins the table and you just order what you feel like and he will tell you what is cooking in the kitchen as well... Glad someone spoke Hokkien ..... :P
Our Daily Challenge - On the Table
So I've been approached to take some photo's for an advertising agency.
This one was taken for a billboard of the restaurant which ties in so nicely with yesterday's challenge - also the real 199/366
ODC-Spread
This is the kind of jam (spread) I like. It's organic and has 3 ingredients. The fruit, apple juice concentrate for sweetening and fruit pectin to jell it. There is no reason to use white sugar or anything else in these spreads. I have compared this to Schmuckers regular Strawberry Jam and here are the ingredients: Strawberries, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Corn Syrup, Sugar, Fruit Pectin, Citric Acid. "Sweet & Cheap!" OMG talk about unnecessary sugar (and bad sugar at that) overload. Remember folks, read the labels..after all we are what we eat eh! Bilberries are Europe's version of Blueberries.

This is a music CD "PLAYSONGS" by Valentine Quartet from Danmark.
It's filled with very comfortable jazz songs and the moment that I listened to the CD, I fell in love with tunes inside it.
I put tunes into my PowerBook, iPod, iPod Shuffle and car audio set and listen them all the time.
By the way, do you remember the picture on this CD?

There is something I find alluring in dying flowers. I'm not obsessed with death, in any way shape or form. I just find the flowers still possess their beauty, even in death, and decay. The colours have more meaning. It's like they're fighting to keep relevant, to, not become obsolete. I arranged the flowers (cut shorter) from the previous pictures, in a circular pattern on the bistro table in my backyard, then added 4 freshly cut blossoms from around the house. Can anyone name the 4 flowers in the centre?

Need I translate? lol This Canadian Thanksgiving is a bit of a sad one for our family. My birthday was the 6th (that's not the sad part lol) but, on the first, sometime after midnight, my wife's mother slipped away into eternity, to be in the presence of her Saviour. She had diabetes, dementia, and had experience very poor health since the onset of the Covid. No one was allowed any contact, of course, but my Father-In-Law was able to visit twice the day before she passed. He is also very unwell, with the big C. Sigh-life goes on. Because my wife's brother has just returned from Israel, they were forced into 14 days of quarantine. Someone from the government checks on them every day. Can you say, 1984? So, we are having a memorial service next Saturday, in Vineland, Ontario, with Vi's ashes. Her passing was not unexpected, but, nevertheless, death is always a reminder of the fragility of life. She is definitely in a better place now, as she had been uncommunicative for at least a month, and could no longer get herself out of bed, or sit up.
All things being equal, we were fortunate to have Viola with us this long. She enjoyed a good life, had travelled the world, multiple times, and had spent 10 years in Africa with her husband, acting as Guest House administrators for AEF. She will be missed. Again, happy, Canadian Thanksgiving, eh?
