Gray-Nicholls is one of those names that people associated with cricket around the world would recognize. The bat is my friend's, the sun hat, I got from the site in Texas. The side of the bat that is visible is NOT the striking side.

I learned to crochet when I was 13 years old. I fell in love with it and did it for many years and still enjoy it. I find needle craft is an excellent way to relax and be creative. I have crocheted many items, but I think doilies are one of my favourite things to make. This one is a design by Patricia Kristoffersen and is a 3D doily. I love her patterns!

I'm thinking of replacing Kiev 60 with Mamiya 645. I'm probably going to make the decision already tonight. This may be the last roll I shot with Kiev 60. I will sell it if I end up buying a M645.

Here you see a summer view of Lake Whatever, our getaway destination. Just to show you how cold it is in Canada, That's ice on the lake, and this IS October. (read further for a full explanation.) Of course, we don't have a cottage (except for cheese), and Lake Whatever is, Whatever! Its currently 20C outside (around 72F) and the photo was taken last winter in Port Stanley. FYI, I have always loved Poe. A troubled, but, highly creative man. The elephant lighter, is from a bunch of political cigarette lighters from the 50s or 60s. Not sure. He's wearing a necklace that says "GOP". lol I have a jackass lighter with the Democratic name as well. Two, actually. lol I don't smoke, but, I threw that pipe in their anyway. I had great difficulty trying to light the darn thing. Almost threw up. Never could keep it lit. lol The glasses were my Pappy's (great-grandfather), and the mug is from my daughter. The pens were my grandfather Herb's, and the book I bought at an antique store.
It's been a lovely lazy morning in our household.
There are three different work crews outside our home, there is nothing but evergreen covering our entire front yard. But we are warm, we are unharmed, and we have power.
It is a weekend that we are counting our blessings.
ODC-Spread
This is the kind of jam (spread) I like. It's organic and has 3 ingredients. The fruit, apple juice concentrate for sweetening and fruit pectin to jell it. There is no reason to use white sugar or anything else in these spreads. I have compared this to Schmuckers regular Strawberry Jam and here are the ingredients: Strawberries, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Corn Syrup, Sugar, Fruit Pectin, Citric Acid. "Sweet & Cheap!" OMG talk about unnecessary sugar (and bad sugar at that) overload. Remember folks, read the labels..after all we are what we eat eh! Bilberries are Europe's version of Blueberries.
