I was lucky enough to be given these roses today, so I snapped this while they were on my glass table before I put them in the vase.

Need I translate? lol This Canadian Thanksgiving is a bit of a sad one for our family. My birthday was the 6th (that's not the sad part lol) but, on the first, sometime after midnight, my wife's mother slipped away into eternity, to be in the presence of her Saviour. She had diabetes, dementia, and had experience very poor health since the onset of the Covid. No one was allowed any contact, of course, but my Father-In-Law was able to visit twice the day before she passed. He is also very unwell, with the big C. Sigh-life goes on. Because my wife's brother has just returned from Israel, they were forced into 14 days of quarantine. Someone from the government checks on them every day. Can you say, 1984? So, we are having a memorial service next Saturday, in Vineland, Ontario, with Vi's ashes. Her passing was not unexpected, but, nevertheless, death is always a reminder of the fragility of life. She is definitely in a better place now, as she had been uncommunicative for at least a month, and could no longer get herself out of bed, or sit up.
All things being equal, we were fortunate to have Viola with us this long. She enjoyed a good life, had travelled the world, multiple times, and had spent 10 years in Africa with her husband, acting as Guest House administrators for AEF. She will be missed. Again, happy, Canadian Thanksgiving, eh?

It's been a lovely lazy morning in our household.
There are three different work crews outside our home, there is nothing but evergreen covering our entire front yard. But we are warm, we are unharmed, and we have power.
It is a weekend that we are counting our blessings.

I have photographed these things on the table separately... i know it's bit cluttered...by I like cluttered ;)
This is the other new tablecloth I got yesterday. I love this one, it's so pretty. I love the scalloped edges. I'm going to keep it for next Spring. Both tablecloths I ordered are stain proof and this one is permanent press, so no ironing required! Love that. My third tablecloth is coming later this month and it's really different.
