Can colleges and universities effectively pursue massive online learning while maintaining their core academic missions? Issues surrounding the quality of courses, their cost effectiveness, student learning outcomes, credentialing, and equal access to education have provoked a spirited and evolving international debate. Amazing Secret Discovered By 11-Year-Old Immigrant Starts Sky Rocketing Your Grades Almost Overnight…
If You’ve Been Easily Distracted, Unmotivated, Or Forgotten What You Needed To Remember For Tests…Then This Might Be One Of The Most Important Special Reports You Ever Read…
From The Desk of Mr. A Sacramento, California 8:58 AM Dear Frustrated Student,
Even though he did well in math, his grades in English stunk.
When it came to spelling tests… He failed every single one. His parents worked full time…
He couldn’t get help anywhere. Ravi would probably be playing catch up the rest of his life. Without a good education, he’d be stuck in low paying jobs. Others wouldn’t give him the respect he deserved. Ultimately, he’d struggle to survive.
Didn’t have a clue what I was doing as a tutor (just had free time during college).
His teacher told the principal and staff. Their jaws dropped. Even more amazing, Ravi aced his spelling tests from then on. I volunteered every now and then, but even without me there…he was still getting A’s. I even kept his teacher’s thank you card because Ravi opened my eyes…
Until I met Ravi, I thought everyone knew how to study the way I did. Without trying to brag…graduating with honors wasn’t a problem for me. I’m no genius (my terrible grammar is proof of that).
The difference between students like me (who seem to zip through classes without trying) and other students…is…we have a… Read more…

Students will have enhanced access to online learning opportunities thanks to a new partnership between the university and Quizam Media Corporation. Dr. Rosetta Khalideen, UFV’s Dean of Professional Studies, and Dr. Frank Ulbrich, Director of the School of Business, joined Russ Rossi, President & CEO of Quizam Media Corporation, to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on behalf of their respective organizations on April 2.
The partnership formalizes a path for developing UFV’s project plan to access and customize ontrackTV content for labs, self-paced learning, and other purposes related to UFV credit and non-credit courses. The goal is for UFV to work with ontrackTV to help meet UFV’s strategic plan goals for online delivery.

Capitalizing on the popularity of the craft brewing phenomenon to teach science, Oklahoma State University is offering an interactive online learning course this fall to explain microbiology through the practical application of micro brewing.
The course, Brewing Microbiology, is open to OSU students for credit, and is available for free to anyone around the world with Internet access as a MOOC (Massisve Open Online Course).
The craft and business of microbrewing has exploded in the last decade. In 2015 the number of operating breweries in the U.S. grew 15 percent to a record 4,269. Small and independent breweries account for 99 percent of the breweries in operation.
Brewing Microbiology fulfills three credit hours of upper division science for OSU students and there are no prerequisites, though high school or freshman level biology and chemistry is suggested. Enrollment is open now through August 22.
Dr. Tyrrell Conway, professor and department head of microbiology and molecular genetics at OSU, will teach the course. He will take students through the biology of grain, biochemistry of malted barley, chemistry of water, preservative nature of hops, the human physiology of taste and smell, and the microbiology of yeast.
Conway points out that the course is about the science behind the process of microbrewing, not about the brewing technique.
Lectures will be delivered on location from inside a lab, outside in grain fields, and through a tour of Stillwater’s Iron Monk Brewing Company, which is owned and operated by OSU alumni Dave Monks and Jerod Millirons.
Production of the course was a collaborative effort involving various programs on campus, specifically Arts & Sciences Outreach and ITLE (Institute for Teaching and Learning Excellent).
To enroll or learn more, visit asoutreach.okstate.edu/students/online/brew or call the Arts & Science Outreach office at (405) 744-5647.
