'The Path - Original' Large On Black

Path leading to Latourell Falls in Multnomah County, Oregon. I have received 5 emails asking to see the ORIGINAL of 'The Path - Filtered' so here it is. Hope you enjoy the photo as much as I enjoyed the peaceful walk down "The Path".

Taken on US-89 outside of Hatch, Utah. Usually, this pond is full of algae. On this day, it was partially frozen with a dark film on the ice.

Off of Interstate 70 outside of Green River, Utah.......

Latourell Falls - Columbia River Gorge - Oregon. The 249 foot high, 20 foot wide Latourell Falls cascades down a cliff on the north side of Pepper Mountain. Water flow is significant only in the late Winter and Spring months. Though you can view Latourell Falls from the highway, a short, paved, slightly downhill, path takes you to the base of Latourell Falls. You can also walk behind the waterfall.

WATERFALLS

Taken on a blustery, gray afternoon in February. This is the same old farm in three other postings but from different angles.............. I seem to be drawn to this place............................

The demolition process of the Ashland ore dock has begun. The ore dock is listed on the city's historic register. It was built in 1916 to load iron ore mined in the area onto Great Lakes freighters, and is one of the largest in the world. The concrete structure is 80 feet (24 m) high and 75 feet (23 m) wide and extends 1,800 feet (550 m) into the harbor. it was last used to ship ore in 1965. In 2007 the Wisconsin Trust for Historic Preservation named it one of the "10 most endangered historic buildings in Wisconsin", a list intended to stir preservation efforts. According to a structural inspection completed in 2006 and 2007 the ore dock has become structurally unsafe and an imminent safety hazard. In 2009, approval was granted for the demolition of the structure. All material on the ore dock will be removed down to the concrete base. The anticipated date of completion of the project is scheduled for completion at the end of 2014.

The place is near of the public botanical gardens of Tübingen and near of the Schönbuch parks.

In the north of this place is a hugh public park.

NN hohen Bromberg.

I like this cool looking little bird!

Found in Sindelfingen.

When I was coming home from work last week I spotted this awesome Blue Heron, so of course I had to pull over, hoping he would stay long enough for me to get a shot or two in. Well, to my surprise, he was more concerned with getting some dinner than me standing on the shore, as he continued "fishing" and then caught this little guy. I was so exceited to see this, I was like a little kid! LOL It was really interesting though and fun to watch. He walked a little further into the swamp and then swallowed the fish whole, turned around, went back in the water and resumed fishing.................maybe to get some dessert?? ;^)

Have a great week!

This image is in memory of my sister-in-law Karen who passed away yesterday morning. Karen battled with Emphysema and lost the fight.

Karen was a smoker and this was the cause of her respiratory difficulties. She was on oxygen for the past year and continued to smoke. Even as she lay dying, she asked for a cigarette. That's how strong the addiction is. I don't want to preach, but please, if you smoke give some serious thought to quitting. It may save you and your loved ones a lot of suffering. I am sorry if what I've said offends anyone, but in my profession, I have witnessed the effects of smoking and living in an environment with second hand smoke and the heartbreak that accompanies it. I hope you understand. I will now step down from my soapbox.

Have a good weekend!

I re-used the flickr tag I did for my 24 hours of flickr shot and stuck it on my electric toothbrush. My toothbrush rocks harder than ever, right?!

By the way, this is shaving cream I have in my mouth. I wanted to make my flash bounce in the bathroom sink but with that not-so-good taste in my mouth, I realized that I could just as well make my flash go directly at me and get that shaving cream off as quickly as possible.

Hanging out with each other.

I have posted images from this area before. This boat landing is located on the east end of Ashland where Chequamegon Bay goes into Lake Superior. In the background, you can see the break wall where the lighthouse is located in the bay.

'Bridal Veil Creek' Large On Black

I am still trying long exposures on waterfalls and there creeks. I think one of the biggest problems for me will be staying dry! This is the bottom creek of Bridal Veil Falls and this time of year Bridal Veil runs fast - waterfall spray is heavy.

Bridal Veil Falls is one of the many falls in the Columbia River Gorge which can be seen along the Historic Columbia River Highway east of Portland, Oregon. Bridal Veil Falls is a tiered falls on Bridal Veil Creek, with the upper falls dropping 60-100 feet and the lower falls dropping 40-60 feet. Bridal Veil Creek heads on Larch Mountain.

Somehow my four year anniversary on flickr sort of passed me by the other day. I had thought of it beforehand, then it just slipped my mind. Four years ago on the 16th of November, I started this photostream .

I went back to the very beginning, and looked at my images. While I would say that I produce more artful work now...more challenging pictures...I have deep appreciation for the beginnings. In fact, I started making public a bunch of stuff that went private, at the time I shut down that photostream. The reason for this, I guess, is because the pictures, although mundane and even trite, still feel very meaningful for me.

My old photostream is very life oriented...very personal. It's a journal, I think, and was a way for me to become acquainted with so many of you...a few of whom are now some of my dearest and closest friends. I go back sometimes, to help me remember what was going on at any given time...like when we ask, around the dinner table, "exactly where did we have Thanksgiving dinner in 2006??" It's kind of funny, really :)

Anyway...thanks for the company on the journey...for all the support and encouragement. I do believe this experience has not only helped me to become a better artist (if in fact that's what I am...I'm not fond of labels)...but a better, more compassionate person.
