Dando un paseo en el campo

Летняя геометрия

Dopo la pioggia viene il sereno

brilla in cielo l’arcobaleno.

È come un ponte imbandierato

e il sole ci passa festeggiato.

È bello guardare a naso in su

le sue bandiere rosse e blu.

Però lo si vede, questo è male

soltanto dopo il temporale.

Non sarebbe più conveniente

il temporale non farlo per niente?

Un arcobaleno senza tempesta,

questa sì che sarebbe una festa.

Sarebbe una festa per tutta la terra

fare la pace prima della guerra.

view from the olive grove, land between Gioiella and Porto, Umbria, Italy

Not great light for dramatic photography; apologies! It's dry here but there is some water in the Wadi (canyon) and you can see some of the olive orchards that are up and down the Wadi... so, because there is water and some trees; there are some birds. And, the scenery is well, more than eye opening...

This is also the land of the end of the Biblical Exodus. Mt. Nebo, where Moses saw the Land of Promise, is 15 km (10 mi) north of here. There are Roman, Moabite, Nabatean, Crusader and early Islamic ruins everywhere. There's a "feeling" in the air...

I use GE to plan and study the land for my birding trips... that's how I found this place... there were a few tourist and City Jordanian day trippers, like me, around but this is the off season, way too hot for long hikes...

This Wadi has a "paved road." The road eventually branches and heads up each side of the canyon on two sets of switchbacks, one on each bank; it does not go all the way to the Dead Sea. Both escarpments overlook the Sea.

"Friends" tell me they need photos of these roads so I have to drive up one side, right? Of course, the steepest... and get the panorama photo from the top... actually as I'm driving along the Wadi, I'm thinking to myself, "How can there be a road to the top of the plateau over there?" I'm trying not to wonder about it even though I've seen it on GE... best not to think too much right now... it'll be fine... of course it will... :-(

Emperor Hadrian built a massive compound at Tivoli, near Rome, in the 2nd Century CE. Long in ruins, the villa is still a fascinating place to visit, and very quiet the day we went.

Pelekas est réputé pour ses couchers de soleil.. L'empereur Guillaume II admirait le crépuscule et la vue admirable assis sur un rocher dénommé le "Trône du Kaiser".

This shot was taken from small walkway around the castle roof top shown in some of my other shots (Italy-Monterchi 2022-45). It provided some stunning views of the landscape and surrounding villages and community buildings. It was very windy, but the weather was sunny and warm!

Green, white, red... Italian classics in one shot

Taking photographs during noon, under an absolutely clear blue sky and a very hot weather. Crete has the largest number of sunshine hours all over Europe.

Have just returned home after a tour in Israel. On Friday we were in Jerusalem, on the Mount of Olives and the Western Wall. The war started on Saturday and we had to be two days overdue because all flights had been cancelled. Yesterday we managed to get a plane that could take us home safely to Norway.

There is nothing like an olive

I have been watching the growth on the old olive tree trunks regularly and documenting the life forms that exist on it over the seasons...this is number 1
