- 9 C /15.8 F, strong wind, but what a joy to be out in first snow
this weekend up in the Black Forest mountains.
Despite the cold, the top of the Schauinsland mountain was crowded with people enjoying walking, skiing, sledging or snowshoeing.
But unfortunately - like in the past- the November snow won't last for long...Mostly, the real winter will arrive in January...

Happy December, dear friends :-)
Thank you for your kind visits.
A Unusual shot of this Beautiful Rainbow seen over a Hornbeam Tree .This Particular Old Tree as a Preservation served on it ...This Photo is my 6.000 that l have downloaded to this Site .
The old tree trunk is rotting. A rough estimate is one year of rotting time for every ten centimeters of stalk height.
These pollard willows are one of my favorite alleys and this is an image without leaves.
Their trunks have been shortened as young trees at a height of approximately 1 to 3 meters and whose branches are cut regularly.
Since branches of willows were often used as piles for the construction of fences, new plants emerged from these piles due to the enormous regenerative capacity of the willows. For this reason, pollard willows often occur (e.g. in the Lower Rhine area) in a row.
Today, there is now economic use of willows, as industrial substitute products have been established. This is why pollard willows are no longer cultivated nowadays.

Wishing you a fantastic Valentine's weekend.
I dont know these two people :). They just happened to have a V-picnic under this fantastic and majestic tree. I thought that was nice of them (lolz), only if it the sun wasnt blatantly bright.
I wish all my friends and visitors of my photo gallery a Merry Christmas and a happy and peaceful New Year 2023.
Thanks for all your kind comments, I really enjoy them.
This tree and the chapel are located near Bad Abbach.
1.2.2023 I replaced this image with the one without text.
Standing on the corner of Church Street (Ross' main street) we look down High Street, past the school house and a number of cottages all built in the 1840s and 50s. That gnarled tree may not be that old, but it lends itself to a more dramatic composition.
Monument Valley is of course not about "monuments." It is a very dramatic reflection of the earth's changes over eons, relating to billions of years of mountain building, seismic activity, severe climate changes, air and water erosion, and more. The southwest was once an enormous sea -- just as an example -- which laid down layer upon layer of sand from ancient beaches. Those are still visible here in the layers of this "monument."
Spring evening walk - Hyde Park.
According to Wikipedia, an urban forest is “a forest or collection of trees that grow within a city, town or suburb. In a wider sense, it may include any kind of woody plant vegetation growing in and around human settlements.”
Matabei cherry tree, In Ōudahongō, Uda-shi, Nara-ken, Japan ~
A huge cherry tree blooming in a foggy spring garden ~ The Matabei-zakura (Matabei cherry tree) is a 300-year-old cherry tree in the rural area of Uda city, Nara, Japan.
I have been trying to photograph this terraced meadow and its trees for a long time. This picture was taken at sunset with my drone.
