Iso 1250, 30s f4.

Searching for very old trees at Sedona, I found this living fossil Juniper Tree . In this área you can find some real old ones. I was very lucky getting this wonderful light. ( YBSNature21 )

All Things Must Pass
George Harrison
Sunrise doesn't last all morning.
A cloudburst doesn't last all day
Seems my love is up and has left you with no warning
It's not always going to be this grey
All things must pass
All things must pass away
Sunset doesn't last all evening
A mind can blow those clouds away
After all this, my love is up and must be leaving
It's not always going to be this grey
All things must pass
All things must pass away
All things must pass
None of life's strings can last
So, I must be on my way
And face another day
This one is for all my Family and Friends, wherever you are around the world. Remember, over the next few weeks and months, no matter how bad things get, it will get better. Stay safe, and look after each other.
Went down to Jamberoo this morning to shoot this specific old shed and tree. Have been waiting for the right conditions, and the sun to rise in just the right spot, and this morning, everything fell into place. It rained quite heavily on the trip down, and I knew then, that if we got just the slightest cloud break on the horizon, that it would be a ripper. And sure enough...
Happy out.
Hope you like "All Things Must Pass"
Cheers, Mike
Old age doesn't come by itself unfortunately. These old trees are as dead as dodo's but their still standing proudly not far from Mount Main in the border hills near Heriot. No doubt awaiting some future storm to cut them down.
I've been photographing this old, dead tree for years. The storms have taken a few branches over the years , but the skeleton persists and remains a favorite perch for cormorants,Ibis and others. Brazos Bend State Park in SE Texas. 1/2018
The same tree as the one previous post....I waited...for this moment....like we all wait for those certain moments....then...

Adrift
A silent voyage
No corners are found
Mist of uncertainty
A cloud overhead
Faint voices echo
Trembling is the ground
A throbbing heart
Obscure the destination
Darkness-a hollow clasp
A hopeful touch
Unknowing reveals a mystery
Gracefully Sophia appears

Little Owl / athene noctua. 15/08/19.
After enduring hours on a branch getting buffeted by the strong wind, the Little Owl finally opted for a stable perch. In this sheltered position it preened in a leisurely manner, occasionally glancing down to check I was still looking!
It is a pity it's eyes are shaded in this image but I'm pleased with the the wispy feather detail captured.

A tree hollow or tree hole is a semi-enclosed cavity that has naturally formed in the trunk or branch of a tree. They are found mainly in old trees, whether living or not. Hollows form in many species of trees, and are a prominent feature of natural forests and woodlands, and act as a resource or habitat for a number of vertebrate and invertebrate animals. A tree hollow is a cavity in a living tree.

A diptych showing two close-up images from a 450-540 year old sycamore tree.
Locals called it many names: The Big Sycamore, The Peace Tree, or The Treaty Tree. It once stood over 80 feet tall with a 24 foot girth, but it still draws people's attention. The remains of the tree, part of the trunk and stump is a landmark near the Red Rock Lake marina.
Developed with Darktable 3.6.0. Framed in Photoshop.
It had lost it's leaves in the fall and actually didn't even have many, but it stood up straight and proud all the same.

There is a large clump of old hazel coppicing next to the footpath through Bayfield near where I live and I have tried many times to photograph them with no reasonable image. Yesterday I saw the way the sun fell on them late in the afternoon and thought there was a possible shot here. Hope you like it.
