Final shot of the „October: One month in 31 Pictures” - that's me. I am lucky to be at the end. It wasn't easy to organise everything but at least I learned a lot and I had lots of fun with all models and situations. I hope it was interesting for you to follow me and my photography in October.

Once she was the queen on the working ground. Building homes, lives, families and societies. Fierce were her teeth capable of shaping even the most stubborn giants from mother nature. Even the strongest gets caught by the winds of change and her merits would soon perish into the well of forgetfulness. Now her teeth are worn, her back is sore and everybody would rather forget. When forgotten, nobody owes her for what she's done.

Ankarudden is a very scenic little harbour with connection to Landsort on Öja island.
The harbour is very well sheltered. Mooring is done along side the pier, on the west side, while keeping free the spot for the ferry and for the pilot boat. There is no fee but no service. It is however a very pleasant stop just befopre entering or quitting the Stockholm archipelago, along the fairway. Alternatively, the bay is a very good anchorage (ankarudden!) used along the centuries as shelter by crown ships and other vessels during storms.
Ankarudden is mentioned in pilot documents from the XIIIth century.
Ankarudden was originally a manor, but was burnt in 1719 during the Russian invasion. The Dutch mill was built in 1857 and remained in activity until 1925.

Aderholt Mill is listed on the National Register (ca. 1825) and is located in Jacksonville, Alabama. It is one of Calhoun Counties most beautiful preserved mills and is currently occupied by residents. Aderholt Mill sits along a small creek with a beautiful pond in the back. Aderholdt Mill, Jacksonville, AL One of the first grist mills in Alabama,
I know I have posted several pictures of this mill already, but I don't get out much these days so bear with me.
Elgin. Moray, Scotland - October 26th 2021 - Old Mills, Elgin.
The now-gutted mill has suffered three major fires in recent years and lost its roof in the latest disaster.
The building dates from before 1230, when Alexander II granted the milling rights to the monks at Pluscarden Abbey, and it is both the River Lossie's oldest and most recently working mill.

De ontmantelde molen in polder Breeveld.
De molen is gebouwd in 1864 en onttakeld in 1931 en ligt in het plaatje Breeveld aan de Breeveld in de Nederlandse gemeente Woerden.
The pond next to the Old Mill Restaurant abounds with ducks and geese. They are there for the easy eating. The restaurant provides day-old rolls for guests to share wit the birds, some of whom are quite tame.
“Bring me a cupful of the warm South”
Took this shot last year deep in the Beaujolais. Oddly unlike all the other grand crus of the southern Beaujolais like Fleurie , Chenas , Morgon and Juilianas There is in fact no commune or village called Moulin-à-Vent. Wines bearing the Moulin-à-Vent appellation (created in 1936) come from the commune of Romanèche-Thorins , and also from around Chénas . The name Moulin-à-Vent comes from on old windmill standing to the northwest of Romanèche-Thorins, now preserved as the last remaining specimen in the Beaujolais. This was until recently sail-less, and will be seen as such on many wine labels, reproductions of old postcards, and in old photographs lining the walls in bars and restaurants, but has now been restored.
I stayed twice in the mid Eighties in a cottage just across the road and passed it every morning on my way to the boulangerie. The windmill reminds me of long sunny days full of good food and the blissful taste of the of the red wine of area
