The whole time I was here I was thinking about the gorgeous photos my Flickr friend photographersouthflorida@gmail.com took at night at this location.

I was just passing through so trying to get some night shots will have to wait until another time.

I would also love to get some photos of the Great Smoky Mountains, shown here as just a pop in the right corner.

Considered the largest wood frame structure in Knox County Illinois, this old early 1900’s school house now sits unused except for Halloween spook shows and the like. There is a walnut wood gymnasium on the top floor. This place was a real showcase in it’s day which proves to me that in it’s heyday this town was bustling and prosperous whereas today it is only a sleepy little village with no business district whatsoever. The current population is about 250. The fortunes of this town rose and fell with the railroad. It has been left high and dry by the winds of fate.

Old Sarum is the site of the earliest settlement of Salisbury in England. Located on a hill about 2 miles (3 km) north of modern Salisbury near the A345 road, the settlement appears in some of the earliest records in the country.

This indeed an old school. Located in Nes aan de Amstel, it used to be connected to the local church. Now it is a studio for artists. I run or bike often past it and I am always fascinated by it so needed to come back during sunset.

Have a greet weekend and many thanks for your comments & favs

For many years this old wharf has been used to service smaller cargo ships finding safe harbour at Stanley in the shelter of The Nut. It may even have been used by the SS Marrawah in the 1920s. www.flickr.com/photos/luminosity7/52734976941/in/dateposted/

Old mill on the broken bridge over the Seine River in Vernon, Normandy, France.

The Old Mill is a unique timber monument of its kind built in the sixteenth century straddling the piles of the old town bridge crossing the Seine, the medieval bridge dates from the twelfth century, the mill dates from sixteenth century .

Between 1925 and 1930, the Old Mill belonged to a composer magazines, Jean Nouguès, who laid a dancing on a barge moored nearby. In 1930 he sold it to an American, William Griffin. Following the death of the owner in 1947, the city has renovated it because of damage from the Second World War.

Today, it is one of the last bridges with a building of the world. The bridge was the setting for the painter Claude Monet.
